This isn't the case in that last article posted. Seems to suggest Ratts sees value in getting him to focus on one end of the ground this preseason to give him the best opportunity at his career.

I read it. Pretty sure that said they’re still going to use him in the midfield? And the next end of the ground or other? Somebody even quoted in bold earlier I think.

I posted the article earlier but in the trade thread stupidly. 🙄

Also states that he has had some success on the wing and looks as though they will keep him there while using him forward and back

I think it's worth changing things slightly to see if we can get some results.

Battle to CHB, Coff to a wing, Clark on ball

Paton - Howard - Wilkie
Highmore - Battle - Sinclair
Coffield - Steele - Hill
Billings - Membrey - Gresham
Higgins - King - Marshall

Ryder - Crouch - Clark
"He's going to improve with a pre-season, he'll be fitter. He may have lacked a little bit at the start of the year in that space, but he's shown the skillset to maybe hold down a key back position."
I think at this stage, he sees Highmore with greater upside to hold down a key back.

Who is the GOAT these days?

I think Ryder will play until we find another replacement. I think we'd prefer to have the option to play Marshall forward to help King where possible.
The Sharmanator l believe.

Bring in the GOAT and leave Marshall sole ruck since he goes better like that anyway.
Dmac keeps his wing, Coff to the bench.

Ah righto.

Yeah I would have had Sharman on the bench, I just lost interest after I did the first 18.

If he can continue that form than it definitely gives us the option to go in with one ruck. Although Marshall's ruck work is another as good as Paddy's.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but I've heard we are in talks with Dale Tapping from the Lions.

He was their midfield coach up there and was at the Pies prior to that.

Highly rated in terms of developing young mids in particular.

That sounds like a good fit. We desperately need to both fix our midfield work (I’m looking at you centre clearances!!!) and develop Clark, Bytel, Byrnes, Connolly as well as whatever mids we bring through the draft this year. High priority.

I can't keep up.

Normally whoever gets the mantle of GOAT on here, it doesn't end well for them.

I'd prefer we find him another name.

no surer way to get delisted than to be a Bigfooty sponsored player, must be 5 players in a row now, that player has left the club I do blame boydie
GOAT tag normally takes a few years to work

I knew something like this was coming but it's still a kick in the knackers.

Leppitch snaps up top strategy role at Collingwood, along with Brendan Bolton as coaching director (weird role for such a junior coach?)

Just our misfortune to be searching for assistants at the same time two of the "Big Four" are hiring.

Lots of reply comments hoping Dale Tapping will be joining him so I now am praying with gritted teeth that we get him even though I'd never even heard of him 2 days ago lol

When i first started coming to BigFooty, Barry Brooks was the sponsored player.
I'm not sure if any of them have done OK.

Brendon Bolton is ( was) director of Coaching at the Hawks and a former senior coach.

Bolton would be one of the most experienced campaigners going around when you look at his CV. He's been in just about every role so he's probably perfect for the job.

Two really good gets there for the Pies. I really hope we can find some quality out there.

I wondered if we should try for Bolton, and then realised he had the director role at the Hawks, so doubted he'd be interested in going back to asst coach.
