I think we're doing a lot of things better at the moment than we have in the past.
Why is everyone suggesting Ross will be done after 4-5yrs? I could see him staying in the seat for 8-10yrs and I would be supportive (if we’re regularly making finals and on the right path). A lot of the most stable and successful clubs have coaches around for long stints

The boss is around 57-58…reckon he’ll finish when his fourth year is done!

I was thinking the same thing until I saw how old Chris Fagan was. Who just went through hellish court case. RTB has also had a couple of years off out off the system.

I have said before Enright will be his successor when the time is right with Pou as our captain.

I’m probably on my own here (and it is hard to judge from the outside), but what makes everyone think Enright is head coach material? Clearly he was a wonderful multiple AA & dedicated player in a strong team. He seems tactically sound (certainly the backline has functioned well as a unit under his tutelage) so he seems to be able to relate to the players to get buy in to a defensive system. However, his relative quiet demeanour and unassuming nature doesn’t really scream head coach material to me. His media interviews aren’t particularly impressive, sure he says the right things, but with his quiet husky voice and introverted persona he seems to lack riz. 🙄 You can’t be a raving lunatic nor a players best mate, but RTB and co seem to have more of an edge… to me he seems like a Justin Longmuir type (quality tactician) but lacking something to be the main man

Catch 22 you can’t be like this either

Ross has been speaking highly of him since he arrived. Bassat said when Ross was appointed he liked to think the next senior coach was already at the club (our assistants at the time being Enright, Harvey and Hayes).
After two years working with Ross, Enright has had a promotion.
It just seems like there is a process in place to prepare Enright for the main job. Whether that's in two years or not remains to be seen.

We shall see in 2 years..
You're a lot closer to the club day by day than I am but this time in 2 years at the end of his 4th year and let's presume our kids have come on we've landed the unicorn free agents and we're knocking at what looks like a sustained run at the top 4, he'll walk away? After a 30 year (assistant and senior) coaching career he'll handover the keys for someone else to (potentially) get "his" dream? Sorry I don't buy that at all.

We go 11th and 14th then that will be an entirely different conversation....

It’s very subjective of course but it’s incredibly taxing being head coach & takes a hellava lot out of them match days!
Ross looks terribly drained after games..time will tell but I’d be happy if he does go on after his initial tenure, just have doubts that he will

When Scott steps down at Geelong, maybe at the end of 2025, Boris is the man they want above all others there
Possibly that's exactly why Saints seem to have anointed him coach-in-waiting. So he doesn't get poached?
Very good future planning.

but lets say Scott does resign end of next year. Enright might go for the job and get it, he will still be coach in waiting, no guarantees
