He was at Hawthorn just before and then through their successful period which is a great signDont know anything about him, but Bob Murphy gave him a good wrap on twitter.
I like how he has experience coaching successful u18 and VFL sides, as well as being a school teacher. Seems like a good background for a head of development.
Collingwood only just got him at the end of last year imagine they'll be filthy.
Pretty solid resume for a Head of Development role. Sounds like a good appointment. Hopefully can make development a much stronger facet of the club than it has been for the past fifteen years.

Bob and I were taught by him at high school. Brilliant person and wonderful teacher. Has obviously been able to translate that skill set from teaching to the footy world. He is a ripping bloke who is able to relate to young men and convey a message. Was always able to make the complicated seem simple. A very nice appointment to have at the club.

Bad cop Roughy "time for some tackling practice champ"Rath and Carroll now in charge of really shaping our team for the long term, didn't seem to do Hawthorn much harm so that seems good. We haven't traditionally been very effective or even coherent here previously and we really need that to change, so good news.
I assume Bachelor will be continuing his role as VFL coach since he's been doing well in it so far.
Boris Enright joins our line coaches down back, any idea who the ruck and midfield coaches will be? Lade taking forwards I suppose and what's Ben McGlynn's role now?
I'd still like to see a bad cop come in and complement "Cuddles" Ratten by reintroducing the fear factor.
O'Shaughnessy is our stats guru, Ben Robbins is our psych, and that new fella who's name I've forgotten as a new head of fitness. These guys roles are crucial, particularly the latter two as I think our battle was mostly lost mentally this season, and we looked well short of fitness: inconsistent output, heads dropping after falling behind early, a noticeable lack of drive in some games. Let's hope these guys experience comes to the fore as we fine-tune that list into elite performance.
Now it's the time for James Gallagher, Chris Liberatore, SA superscout Chris Tocé and list apprentice Roughy to weave their magic, get us a bit more currency at the trade table and hit that draft to maximum effect. Minimum requirements are an elite midfielder from the first round, Windhager and Owens and possibly our signatory late draft jewel, without compromising any capital for any - ahem - future high-stakes trades that may potentially arise next year.
Is Rough the fwd line coach now?Bad cop Roughy "time for some tackling practice champ"
Now all the club has to do is get players who are as good as what hawthorn had during that golden period. With all the ex-hawthorn people we now have at the club, I’m sure it’ll be a pretty big talking point once Clarko eventually wants to come back and Ratts is out of contract…
Why would Ratts be filling a team of people that are setting him up to be deposed? All these recent appointments over the last 2 years that are from Clarkson's era at the Hawks. Looks like we are building the team to fit him in as the centrepiece come 2023.
Does Ratts make the appointments or Lethers? Why would Ratts be filling a team of people that are setting him up to be deposed?
Hmmm, does this mean we get Dingley too?Sounds like a good get.
