Targeting Carlton's set up seems weird.
no not targeting Carlton's setup, this is the bloke Carlton paid a freaking huge wad of cash to pry out of Hawthorn and then threw in the bin because he couldn't produce instant results on injury-prone players. Carlton doing a Carlton.

Look I really want to make clear. This is a rumour I heard. It seems half right so far. But it might be someone different all together.

yeah I get that, but Gringo was asserting he wasn't any good because he was at Carlton.

just saw this

While the review will consider positions across the board fitness boss Andrew Russell, on over $400,000 a season, is expected to stay on next season. Revealed: Why axe has not fallen on Carlton ...

just on the changes, I wonder how much COVID upset our plans on making changes last year.

So anyone got any idea's about which Assistant coaches we should go for.

I envision the following headlines.

Highly regarded coach goes to Carlton.
Highly regarded coach goes to Hawks.
Saints find homeless guy and make him forward line coach.

Good to hear that Clarko won't be coaching next year as he wants to take a break for learning and professional development. I understand things can change but if things don't work out with Ratts next year then Clarko will be available..

Depending what you want from a coach.
He'd bring experience and knowledge but his days of best innovation and new ideas are probably past.
To me a good coach listens to ideas from younger assistant coaches and implements the good ones, so its not the be all and end all.

I wonder about Ratten in that regard though, after hearing the rumours of him and Hamill.

Always two sides to a story.

Hes going to study. He’s a obviously got that kind of mindset. I reckon he’s still pretty open to innovation and learning. He’s still pretty young.

That’s a dead giveaway DH. 😂
I would have expected: “He’s got a pretty young outlook for an old guy”.

I wouldn't actually have a clue how old he is but he has quite a young face.

Ratts is going to be under a lot of pressure next year. Only one year left of his contract, he needs to get results early.

I hope he can really get this side to click, the last thing we need is a year of questions being asked of the coach a la what Carlton went through this year.
