I hate Pies as much as the next guy, but I think mods, perhaps with scores to settle, are extremely cynical in their non action

Chief has posted the reasons why he has determined that this thread will remain open. Previous threads on this topic have been closed down. You'll find the link earlier in the thread or in the board rules thread. We have been, and will continue to weed out the trolling posts.

As a general reminder: comments about moderation isn't something we want to see on the boards. PM one of the mods or admin.

I am on hols from London and are sitting here with two Pies mates both BF users given them the kitchen sink about this. I hate the Pies but the fact that the moderation team have allowed this to stay open wreaks of absolute bias and actually disgusts me that bf which prides its self on rules allows crap like this on.
Agreed.

Talk about players cheating and potentially having a flag stripped off them, without any proof ain't cool.

Come on footy season, start already!

they let hawthorn get away with it so i dont see any problems for collingwood

by the way welcome back to all the hawthorn , st kilda essendon supporters
we have missed you , and just in case you didnt hear COLLINGWOOD 2010 PREMIERS

cheers
**** ME! you mean they have played the game already!

I'm disgusted by this thread, not due to the content as it's mildly amusing, but the title. St Kilda has Grand Final Players, Collingwood has Premiership Players.

Wow, so people are THAT bothered by us winning a flag that 'drug cheats' needs to be made up?

Wow. Just...wow.

I so hope we win back to back, rumor mill will become....

"Collingwood secretly poisoned opposition cereal with paralysis inducing pills"

lol get the **** over yourself. every year there are rumours made up about teams and they all go unfounded.

i dont see every single geelong supporter jumping to defence of people like mark blake saying 'but he has a premiership' but everytime someone criticises someone like leigh brown, who lets face it while being useful is not extremely talented, it seems a page of collingwood supporter jump in 'premiers 2010 woooo'

Come to terms with the fact you can win premierships with players who aren't that good, and we are now in 2011.

Everyone else needs to realise that rumours won't do shit to Collingwood so there is no point in making them up, I doubt the players even realise there is talk about them seeings as most would stay clear of the mediaand sites like these.

Having enough quiet ones here to worry about going out and by the way I am getting too old for that any way. Actually, I am copping a fair caning off the 2010 Premiers though so leaving may be an option.

One Blue and two Magpies, ouch! Take care.

Let's hope your mates don't bring up George Harris's after match diatribe (addressing the faithful from the grandstand named in his honour) at Princes Park in '79 after you did them in the GF.

Tinnies will surely fly!

It will be on for young and old. I have tried to revoke images and memories from 79 and 81 but it is not working. I might have to pull out the beta video and show them the tapes. My old favourite about Wayne Harmes is not even working. They have become immune to Carlton supporters and it hurts. I have the words 2010 ringing in my ears.

It's an interesting rumour, more than likely started by Saints fans (it can be traced to their unofficial forum). I doubt though, it could last this long (I first heard it weeks ago) without one journo running with it, if it wasn't completely untruthful.

It was like the rumour that David Hille was/is gay & he was going to come out on TFS. Not sure that thread lasted long.

When you win the premiership, food tastes better, beer tastes better and every day feels fresh and smells beautiful like a sunny Spring morning.

Will there be those that are jealous and try to spoil your day?

Of course there will be.

But nothing will ever change the fact that good triumphed over evil and Collingwood won the flag.

The way god (Eddie) intended.

So smile at this thread, and give your fellow Pie supporter a knowing wink, because life is good, and just keeps getting better. ;)

.... and hopefully the trains will run on time on the Hurstbridge and Epping lines.

Pretty sure this is the rumour:

http://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=60709

No need to bogart the main board any longer with a thread of pleas for PM's.

Far be it from me to suggest that people should use their good judgment when it comes to these things, and wait for evidence to emerge before passing sentence.

Happy for anyone to start a thread with a what-if scenario re: the flag etc but it's all hypothetical at the moment.

How is this potentially damaging thread based on nothing more than internet rumours originating in a forum that is likely to be biased, allowed to stay open?
A lot of people make-up stories on the Internet about people and organisations they don't like, or have an issue with. There are a lot of stupid and ignorant people that believe anything they read unfortunately. There is absolutely no doubt that this is just rubbish because it hasn't even been reported by any half credible source in nearly four months since the premiership.

I did my due diligence on becoming a member and read the forum rules as advised and for the life of me this thread should not exist according to those rules.

Can it be more clear cut than this?

AFL Board Rules:

Do not post rumours - If you can not back up your statement with facts that can be substantiated or a link to an article etc, do not post it.

Did I miss something? Is there some bias involved here? Could Collingwood sue Bigfooty for allowing this libelous drivel to stand?

Defamation

I've posted a link to CFC to make them aware of it in case they aren't already.

Yes thankfully it appears that crazy rule is no longer enforced at all. I wouldn't be complaining though, it's a good thing. Now we know we can create a thread about anything we want no matter how ridiculous and made up it is. Players from Collingwood taking drugs, players from Sydney beating up homeless people, players from Fremantle taking bribes, anything that takes your fancy can now be a main board thread, and because there no longer has to be a single news source - credible or otherwise - reporting it, the only limit is our imagination!:thumbsu:

'Tis a glorious day indeed for Bigfooty, songs will be sung of it.

Good job mate.

Were you the little pink fat kid at school who used to run to the teacher when you heard other kids saying nasty things about you?

Were you so self righteous when equally scurrilous and defamatory rumours were spread about individuals and clubs, sometimes even by Collingwood supporters ( believe it or not). Did you advise the Collingwood Football club that people representing themselves as supporters were saying defamatory things about Steven Milne or Leigh Montagna, or casting aspersions about the sexuality of an Essendon player...etc ...etc...and ask the club to make an example of them?

Collingwood sue Big footy? Ultimate lulz with that line.

Pop into the Bay sometime and read the utterly defamatory and often quite disgusting rubbish written about players/coaches/clubs there...might help you to HTFU a bit :thumbsu:. .... if you want to be a bush lawyer you will have a never ending portfolio of cases in this place.

PS: BTW..if you check back earlier on this thread you will see my expression of disgust at this thread, so I am not defending it. Reporting it to the club is nowhere near as effective as some of the intelligent and witty responses ( even from Collingwood supporters!! :) ) that dismantle trash like this and make the OP look like a ripe dill.

Was increased traffic during the off season a reason?

Anyone here heard a rumor going round that says in the next 1-2 weeks, the AFL will be making an announcement regarding 5 or 6 Collingwood players who tested positive to performance enhancing drugs post the Grand Final!!??
Would be the same stuff the Hawks players used in 2008?

There is growing speculation on this rumor from the grand Final. Sources seem to have information coming from everywhere that there may be some truth in the rumor and that the 6 players who tested positive were allegedly St Kilda players.
Seems a Saints fan on another site may have deflected the information to the Pies but it is actually the Saints.
Imagine if this was true and the Saints had performance enhancing assistance and still performed like that.

Collingwood's 2010 Premiership, one of the shortest celebrated and remembered Grand Finals of all time.

Seriously, after 2 weeks all the hype was totally gone. The joke of a replay and perfectly timed rape allegations shortly after made sure it was forgotten very very quickly.

1/ they were tested post grand final day
2/ Collingwood has the AFL by the balls.
Such a sad little hater

Care to comment on the new related allegations re #196 that the players tested from the GF were actually StKilda players and the rest is desperate deflection from StKilda and their supporters?

No of course you don't sunshine that would spoil all your hating delusions wouldn't it?

They were the far older team and would have benefited more from HGH, I wonder how long a HGH thread about St Kilda would last?

The rumor seems to center around grand final players. The version i have heard definitely involves at least one st kilda player injured from the first grand final.

Having said that, there is many versions of this rumor.
