Reeks of DEFLECTION tactics by the St Kilda mod squad on here (considering the summer they have had).

How this thread has not been closed down yet, is a joke.

No doubt however, this post will find itself in the "clean up" pile.

I have posted numerous times in this thread, plus in the rule thread, the reason why this thread continues to be open. Lach has also done so a few posts ago. Chief determined that this topic was a valid discussion topic (see Chief's post that Lach quoted). I have also posted that further public comments about moderators or moderation are not welcome.

The only problem with that is the explanation directly conflicts with your own rules.

AFL Board Rules:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=563741

Do not post rumours - If you can not back up your statement with facts that can be substantiated or a link to an article etc, do not post it.

Where is the article or substantiated facts that would allow this thread under the rules of this site regarding a rumour?

Collingwood's 2010 Premiership, one of the shortest celebrated and remembered Grand Finals of all time.

Seriously, after 2 weeks all the hype was totally gone. The joke of a replay and perfectly timed rape allegations shortly after made sure it was forgotten very very quickly.

LOL. You put lie to your own words by posting them in this thread....
No interest....ROFL.
Have a look at the main board for the last two months.

Chief calls the shots. Read his post. He has determined that this topic can be discussed. And the parameters for that discussion. End of story. You've asked why it is open despite the existing rules, I have given you that explanation. Numerous times. Any further discussion on this matter is to be conducted privately.

Leigh Montagna, Stephen Milne, Nick Dal Santo, Kosi and Nick Riewoldt boards. Add Lenny Hayes to this having watched his efforts numerous times as he was getting smashed in the centre square by Luke Ball in the replay- the very man that was touted to be nothing more than Lenny's back-up.

Where were these men when the pressure was on?

Hayes was probably worn out after smashing Ball in the first GF, lucky for Ball he got a second chance and was fresh from only playing about 50% game time in GF1. Hayes is still clearly a superior player.

Correct. But Collingwood are clearly the superior side

At the moment some posts are being removed from this thread, but most are not.

This is not an edited publication, it is a place for users to post their own material. Two previous big stories that we've disallowed had their own aspects that made it reasonable to disallow content covering those issues.

If the AFL or Collingwood give us credible notification that there is no truth to this rumour and request that we remove this thread we are happy to post their statement and close this thread, disallowing further discussion.

The rules themselves need a re-write. The intention is to keep people from exposing themselves to legal action, but really that is not our job.

Personally this thread has brought up some very interesting information on drg detection so I say play on, but remember you are responsible for what you post.

Hey Chief, long time lurker, first time poster.

Are you aware of cases like these?

Successful defamation cases against forum posters / owners.

Have you contacted the AFL or Collingwood seeking such notification, and if so what response did you recieve?

We are not an edited publication so it is not our job to seek comment from particular people.

Over the years we have received many communications about rumours and even factually correct discussions which we have agreed to remove for various reasons.

This is no different.

I've given our stance on this issue and I've reminded people to protect themselves. That's where we're at.

Two separate official publications (The Bubble and One Grand Week) have stated 6 players from St Kilda were tested for the Grand Final and only 1 Collingwood player was tested.

Now this rumour is about 6 players testing positive to HGH.

Do the math people.

As an Essendon supporter pointed out to me yesterday, this article relates to ASADA testing that took place during the AFL grand finals, and it reports athletes testing positive to a stimulant.

So wouldn't any potential cover up by the AFL be for a stimulant, and not HGH?

Or are they one and the same?

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/national/sports-stars-drug-shame/story-e6frf7l6-1225942448838

They are two different things, other than that i'm not sure whats the logic behind your questioning is.

ASADA has already made public failed testing during the grand final week, so any potential coverup by the AFL would be for a club using a stimulant and not HGH wouldn't it?

Yes and?

“The AFL today confirmed that it had no notification from ASADA that any AFL players were among nine Australian athletes who have tested positive to the prohibited stimulant methylhexaneamine,” the AFL said in a statement

Nevermind, was just trying to help prove the HGH rumours are rubbish.

Yeah, i was sort of suspecting that, you just didn't express yourself clear enough or maybe i'm a bit slow :p

.

. This is old news

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/...egal-drug-use/comments-e6frea8c-1225942444608

"NINE Australian athletes - some believed to be AFL players - face two-year bans after testing positive to the same illegal drug in the biggest doping scandal to hit Australian sport."

Yep that article is before the AFL released it's statement saying no AFL players were involved.

Still, it once again confirms that positive testing was for a stimulant, not HGH.

I don't think rumours like this one or the same one but with a different club add much to football discussion.
I think it just adds to the view that forums like this peddle in muck. It gives Gary Lyon more ammunition in his hatred of these types of forums

any chance we can shut this sh!t down? rumour has it that some footy is going to be played in a fortnights' time, maybe we could give some consdirastion to talking about that?

Off the presses;

Rooters, Arsocciated press

Statement from AD follows;

I can confirm that a certain official of the Collingwood Football Club administered a drug to all 22 players in the Grand Final team. The officials name will be suppressed, but it is believed that his initials may start with M and finish with ick Malthouse.

Whilst I cannot confirm nor deny the substance administered to the players, but love is the drug I'm thinking of.

Officials preparing the case have also named the leader, "Eddie", and there are suggestions that this gang of 50,000 badged members and a far larger number of "prospects" are also implicated in the manufacture and supply of the soon to be banned substance. Federal Police are investigating the involvment of the heir apparant to this gang, a subject believed to be known as "Bucks"

AAP/Rooters

In a shocking development, former Collingwood and Brisbane coach (name suppressed) aka Lethal, has admitted to administering the drug "love" throughout his coaching career.

"I started experimenting with it during 1990 I think" stated the unnamed source, " the boys had stopped responding to all the traditional methods, so in desperation we tried doping them with ,um, yeah, love is the drug I'm thinking of". He went on to state that he went on to use it with some success later in his coaching career, but also warned that "it's a very dangerous drug, sometimes there are severe side effects, over and above the usual inflated ego and use of repetitive phrases". It's believed that the condition he was referring to is now commonly referred to as "Aker syndrome", a condition that some pundits believe may be responsible for the behavior of a young Brisbane 2nd year player. Sources state that following his arrest in Brisbanes Valley on New Years eve, when Police asked him if and what he had taken he stated "Love is the drug for me"
