They should be proud of their ancestors and the skin their in, they shouldn't be made to feel less then or somehow evil. Not every person who came here was descendant of a convict or first fleeter...

Yeah and you think advocating black power doesn't promote extremism? Yeah right🙄

Look up the Barbaras slave trade where it began black power...white race ain't the only race to have skeletons in the closet.

I think I tried to tell you once about the story of a young bloke carrying a bucket of hot chips at Frankston railway station, a young man of white European ancestry named JB1975.

A group of Pacific Islanders were coming the other way. The one nearest to JB1975 put his hand out in an attempt to grab a delicious chip, whereupon JB --quite instinctively, without thinking-- swatted the would-be thief's hand and hugged the chips to his chest.

The Islander chap said gruffly, 'You selfish white c***!'

JB wasn't offended. He was simply relieved not to be set upon for being such a greedy turd.

Why wasn't JB offended? Context. Context. Context. Being white hasn't really been a disadvantage over the past few hundred years. The colour of our skin hasn't been used as a pejorative and 'scientifically' associated with the apes in particular and inferiority more generally.

I know you think that that context has been expunged and replaced by some other system of thought which denigrates white people, but neither proposition is really true.

And mate, no one has ever suggested that only white people are capable of doing bad stuff, or at least no serious person has seriously suggested it.

The whole of Australia was an enclave under the White Australia policy.
Thankfully we moved on, and the benefits of multiculturalism have progressed our Country beyond the myopia of that regrettable era.

someone should tell the japanese, the vietnamese, the chinese etc about the benefits...

as soon as you mentioned frankston, i knew we were discussing an alternate universe..

Has he? Are you talking about twitter? Ever since the do better report he's been publically saying that he's not willing to meet with the club. Good if he has met with them.

Yes, the “truth tweeting process”. It’s very fashionable these days.

No, he has told them already what his grievances are and they were dismissed and no apology forthcoming. IN 8 years.

Paul Roos can fill you in.

And nothing has changed. Same with Krakouer and Davis.

When my kids come home and tell me otherwise and living the reality of it, it's hard to take you seriously.

We don't need to demonise one race to lift up another. That is what is happening.

No I didn’t say that at all.
But I’ll leave it to you to go back read my posts for better comprehension.

You literally called my 2 girls out for victimhood and that it's been 5 minutes vs 200 years.
Where we currently live it is extremely multicultural with smaller schools white kids aren't a majority here. So the narrative is definitely not what you and I went to school with.

Then very much is saying that it's OK for them because the indigenous had it worse once.
You then said the same of the stolen white gens.

I understand some of what you're saying, and where it's coming from. My son has come of age in a time when much of what we took for granted growing up is now described as 'toxic'. He also understands that Australia is built upon theft and murder.

As a parent, I've spent many hours telling him that he has nothing to be ashamed of. But I also tell him to think about things, about context, and about the ways in which his position in life is different from --and often more fortunate than-- those of others.

I don't want him to be proud of himself as white, or as a man, or a Collingwood supporter. I just want him to have pride in himself.

We won't agree, so I'm happy to leave it here.

Your children have no idea what White Victimhood is - it’s taken their father to lament it on a forum.
So it’s their father I’m debating not the girls.

So why isn't he calling out the players in question then?

Currently he is tarring the entire club in his time there both playing group and staff.

Yet his own admission was a small group of players and it stopped immediately when he went from being OK with it and infact made the name up himself to not being OK and them stopping immediately.

It's not victimhood it is pointing out that the narrative is being flipped and is now making white children question their identity and race. They are being made to feel unheard and ashamed of the skin their in.

That is not OK.

It isn't one incident. It is many incidents.

And it isn't one player complaining. It is a number of players complaining.

All these incidents occurred in the players' workplace. It is ultimately the club's fault as the employer.

That is garbage quite frankly. It sounds like a One Nation talking point.

What hasn't been made clear is did he or the others approach any senior staff whilst they were at the club?

Was the club aware of it and ignored it or was the club only made aware after the fact?

Also one of the occasions I believe it did get raised the player was put in his place and it was stopped I believe that was one of Leon's examples.

I’ve made my points on this whole issue.
Your children have nothing to fear.
They won’t be regularly harassed walking down the street, racially profiled by police, or sneered or accosted by strangers.

Sadly I can’t say the same for the children of non white families.

Which is more than I can say for the children of non white families.

Wow. Are you joking?

Mate I have had that happen to me growing up and the attitudes have gotten worse not better so not sure where you are getting your confidence from...you clearly have not lived in smaller city's and big towns...

You can really see the difference in people real life experience vs reading and watching a 4 corners program...

Again you reinforce that you have no perspective on this whole issue.
No white person can equate their experience with what is suffered constantly and incessantly by non whites.
You are just making yourself look more shallow with every post.

I don’t think I need to continue to engage, we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

Oh my! Watch out you don't get wool fibers in you eyes old son.

You bought the farm as so many before you have and many after you will.

The Australian incarnation of multiculturalism ENCOURAGES cultural enclaves to exclude other cultures - walk around any Chinatown and talk to the shopkeepers as I have in the course of my business.

In fact LESS tolerance of outsiders than the general population.

..... and teach the young man the benefits of sharing chips

I love how the air in here is thick with indignant, unempathetic, white privilege.

No the air is thick with people not automatically jumping to condemnation based on one side of a story that hasn't been told coherently, with many claims of wrong doing not substantiated. That doesn't mean HL hasn't been wronged by the club's processes, but all I know about in terms of specifics is the Chimp nickname which he also called himself and a story involving Buckley asking him if it was OK to call Seedsman Leso, which may or may not have been inappropriate - depending on the context - as far as I can see that's the only substantiation of the repetitive public claims. HL hasn't publically told a story with credibility - who knows if he has privately.
