Nothing to do with increasing the actual membership numbers of course. This one was pretty simple and not something to be that proud of: just charge members more after a flag.
Not really. Membership numbers were up by about 4%, attendances down by about 8%. Takings from those two things went up by over 15% - It was the higher prices - with a large increase in membership prices.Nothing to do with increasing the actual membership numbers of course.
AFL Club membership sets all-time record
The AFL is pleased to announce an all-time club membership record of 1,319,687 members in 2024www.afl.com.au
Easier than rebuilding the titanic.Would only need to buy a few blocks' worth of houses and displace a bunch of Yarra progressives. Perfect sense.

Which candidates have turned down the opportunity?I wonder if some candidates are turning down the opportunity because of the presence of craig kelly and the fact that they would have to answer to him.
I mean not turning down publicly, more just not choosing to interview for the position.Which candidates have turned down the opportunity?
Who? Daly & Davies? One just won a premiership. Maybe they're just happy where they are.I mean not turning down publicly, more just not choosing to interview for the position.
You would think the general manager of collingwood would be a highly coveted position.

No loss. Both him & Daly said they were happy where they were & not interested in moving to Melbourne.the one from port for one
but you cannot rule out kelly as being a factor as to why they turned down the opportunity to come to collingwood. I am not speaking in absolute terms , just wondering if the recent drama that has surrounded kelly has had an impact on potential candidates interest in the open gm position.Which candidates have turned down the opportunity?
Collingwood targeted Brisbane GM Danny Daly and Port Adelaide football boss Chris Davies, but both opted to remain at their current clubs instead of relocating to Melbourne. Adelaide list manager Justin Reid was also considered for the position.
If you're referring to those two, I'd say one who has just won a premiership, I wouldn't blame him for wanting to stay at the Lions & both preferring not to move to Melbourne has nothing to do with Kelly..

Flagged this when he announced his departure from Freo. I'm not totally against Bell but he would want to stay in his lane re list management responsibilities a bit more than he did at the Dockers.
I also wonder how much of a personality clash there'd be between him, Kelly and Leppitsch who all have very alpha male styles. I personally think Charlie Gardiner is a happy medium between Bell and a Kelly yes man like Justin Reid.
We've just posted about 2 highly qualified & quality candidates in the running for the GM role..but you cannot rule out kelly as being a factor as to why they turned down the opportunity to come to collingwood. I am not speaking in absolute terms , just wondering if the recent drama that has surrounded kelly has had an impact on potential candidates interest in the open gm position.
This is collingwood, the same positions at two different clubs are never the same.People settled in highly coveted positions at other clubs aren’t necessarily going to be throwing their hats in the ring just because there’s a vacancy at Collingwood FC.
