I mean not turning down publicly, more just not choosing to interview for the position.
You would think the general manager of collingwood would be a highly coveted position.

Maybe, but the three who've said no would have all had to uproot their and their family's lives to take the gig.

Plus, in light of Lepa's list manager role, is there a chance that the role we are offering is more diluted than the one that Wright / Walsh /Balme has had in the past?

I think the 'Kelly factor' is a bit conspiratorial to be honest.

We've just posted about 2 highly qualified & quality candidates in the running for the GM role..

So yeah, I would rule out Kelly as being a factor.
I personally disagree with ruling kelly out completely .
Hopefully the next person we hire fits in seamlessly with the club.

but you cannot rule out kelly as being a factor as to why they turned down the opportunity to come to collingwood. I am not speaking in absolute terms , just wondering if the recent drama that has surrounded kelly has had an impact on potential candidates interest in the open gm position.

People don’t get to exec level management if not imbued with more than enough self belief to manage up and down. If there’s a candidate who carry’s doubts about working with Kelly then we don’t want them anyway.

Can we rule out Fly?

Agree 👍

"The Magpies will revert to a traditional football department structure after the departure of Wright, with Brisbane great Justin Leppitsch appointed list manager. Like Jason McCartney at Greater Western Sydney and Andrew Mackie at Geelong, Wright was list manager and GM."

Personally, I cannot rule out celestial being a central reason why Danny Daly and Chris Davies didn't come to Collingwood. I see no categorical evidence to suggest that celestial's negative, sky-is-falling attitude on the matter didn't directly convince them not to leave their comfortable positions at successful clubs to come to a different state.

I also cannot find any strong evidence to rule out Jimmy Hoffa, Sasquatch, Santa Claus or the Bilderberg Group as being signficant factors in their decision.

This one was pretty simple and not something to be that proud of: just charge members more after a flag.

It could be worse… Speaking to a bombers friend, Essendon members are being charged more after 20 years since winning their last final!

If the membership price goes up, I would rather it happened after a premiership. 😝

Is it about pine martens stealing your fish?

Hine has been great to this point. Contininually up there without finishing last.
Dunno about some of you looking to put down everyone. Craig Kelly the latest one getting bagged.
STFU FFS. Getting boring.
If Hine leaves, I salute him.
Hine definitely deserves credit for what he’s done. Some blunders of course, but he’s had a solid contribution in recruiting a bulk of two entirely different Premiership teams for us.

7 years he has barely hit the scoreboard.

The biggest fraud going around, clear evidence for everyone to see.
