GWS stockpiling high round picks, as per usual, while the Cats topping up a premiership side, a side that’s been at the pointy end for ever, with quality young players. That’s after Cameron, Danger, Smith etc also joined the party.
Might detest them for it but kudos to them. Well run * them.

It's sickening isn't.

What's in the water down there, why are so many talented players from that region!?

Unless we can organise another trade with those 2 second rounders for a 1st round pick.

More than 1 way to skin a Cat.

GW has his work cut out for him.
No we shouldn't be doing the work.

The onus should be on the buying club to satisfy us not hand us part of the solition and then we have to sort out the rest.

We have 3 3rd rounders to get rid of, so we won't want a couple of seconds.

Great example of the points system being meaningless unless you actually need to match bids for someone.

Everyone on here thinks Pick 38 for Henry is an insult.

Lots of people on here would be happy with Pick 7 for Henry and Pick 16.

In that scenario, the points system values Henry at Pick 32.

7 & 38 for Henry & 16 = Pick 16 ;)

Doubt the AFL will bend rules just to enable reigning Premier to bring in more talent.
For North Melbourne…yes, for Geelong…no.
They've already done it once before.
So the precedent is there.
The "rule" is more of a guideline....

Cats will show that they brought in 4 first round talents this year (3 that are under 20) and thus the reason for the rule (trading away your future) is not relevant in this scenario.

AFL will agree (like they did last time) and let them trade it away.

I could live with Henry and 16 for Pick 7 and 38.

It's actually a fair trade that both clubs can come away and feel like they haven't been fisted without lube.

I wonder if GCS will take 38 from Geelong for 7 and Bowes? It would solve all of their issues.

How many players will GCS be taking in the draft? They'll have 5 from Adelaide. 38 would become their next best pick pending what happens with Sharp etc.
They can't.
AFL has said it has to be a 2nd rounder.

Cats can't trade their future first full stop unless they bring in another first round selection for next year.
Yes they can. This has been explained multiple times in this thread.

Maybe Geel do a second picks trade with GWS: 7 (worth points 1644) for 18 and 19 (worth combined 1933) leaving GWS with 3/7/12/15 and Hopper still to trade then re-use 18 to get Henry .......but that has to wait till Bowes is done .....
