Some depth will be oh so refreshing! Not to mention some kids who either played (McInnes, Macrae) or were very close to playing (Harrison, Draper) who shall improve.
That's where a good chunk of the improvement needs to come from, having those you mentioned coming in when/as needed filling a role or because they have genuinely knocked the door down and having a positive impact.

I have a good feeling about McInnes,

No.
Unlikely, given Fiorini is purely a midfielder.
Hell yes.
No.
I’m confident Hill will be best 22. McCreery I like but he’s the weakest small forward.

I think WHE makes way for the extra mid rotation. Pendlebury, Crisp and De Goey spend a bit more time up forward.

We need a tall defender to come into the side and it’s one of those two that will make way.

Murphy not an automatic inclusion for next year? What am I reading?

Murphy will take over from Howe and if this game showed anything, it's that the older players could be closer to the end than our 11 game run might have been masking

Howe, Sidebottom and Pendlebury were not very good in this game. At all.

Are you talking about the same Scott Pendlebury who had 29 disposals, 6 tackles, 6 clearances, 4 intercepts and 7 inside 50’s?

If you regard that as not very good at all, then I’m not sure what to say other than maybe give the drugs a rest. He was comfortably in our top 3 players for the night.

Do they need to replace somebody straight away? Competition in the squad is incredibly important, it pushes players to perform better.

Frampton - pushes for a spot in the 22 (with Dean and other KPD), keeping Murphy (long term Howe replacement) on his toes. He also gives us the option to play taller, releasing Moore/Howe/Maynard.
Hill - healthy competition for Ginni and McCreery as small pressure forwards. Puts pressure on WHE to perform, as McCreery or Hill can play higher up the ground as that high half forward/offensive wingman.
McStay - should come in and replace Cox as the fwd/ruck. If Cox holds his spot, then he pushes Johnson to perform otherwise he's dropped.
Fiorini (or Titch*) - this is a need for us, it gives us an in an under midfielder who can extract the ball, handing off to Pendles/Nick/Crisp to release and kick. Adams is too injury prone, we can't keep relying on him.

*Fiorini and Titch are too similar. They're both slow, but extract and find the ball well. Fiorini is younger and much cheaper. Happy to give him a go. Getting both would be a waste.
Mitchell is cheaper than Fiorini, comes free.

Maybe, I think Hill and McCreery will play different roles. I have a feeling we'll see one of them work further up the field, pushing Bianco out.

They really weren't and both made terrible decisions repeatedly in the last quarter when good decisions were required
Borderline delusional - Pendlebury was almost singlehandedly leading our comeback through excellent decision-making. This is perhaps the most bizarre, and downright incorrect post I've ever seen.

I would like to see Beau play wing next year, his run and carry when he actually does do it, is first class. I think Hill is a better option as a small forward

I reckon that the players in our 22 from the prelim whose positions might be in jeopardy in the best 22 next year may include (in no particular order):
Murphy,
Noble,
Bianco,
Cox,
Cameron,
Johnson,
WHE.

I'd be for retaining Noble in our best 22 (or at least for cover) and obviously Adams comes back in.

If Frampton or Dean replace Murphy,
If Hill or Carmichael or McInnes or Macrae or Fiorini replace Bianco,
If Mc Stay replaces Cameron (closest like-for-like upgrade)
If we get a gun inside midfielder (Mitchell, Parish or - best of all if highly unlikely, Dunkley), squeezing out WHE on the wing, with some reshuffling of roles to cover his absence (I'd have Sidey and Jaicos permanently on the flanks)
If we trade in a gun forward through the draft (e.g. Cadman, Sheezel, Wardlaw, Jefferson, George or Hotton) to replace/cover AJ...

that would probably represent a reasonably strong uplift for our list.

I'd love for us to hold on to Grundy, if possible

But, in order to achieve this, we'd probably need to trade out/receive fair compensation for: Cameron, WHE and Henry at the very least (and maybe Poulter). We might even consider trading out the replaced Bianco?

If Grundy stayed, he'd replace Cox - who could provide cover, or might even be tradeable if we think McStay and/or Frampton and/or Kreuger could spell Brodie - and we believe we could negotiate a fair trade for him?

With apologies for anyone's 'favourite son' whom I might have unwittingly assassinated. Just my opinions...

Yeah, nah. Lost me at keep grundy, unless he takes a 300k pa pay cut. Cameron is fine as a ruck and Johnson has played 10 games and could be anything. The others are negotiable

Problem is I don’t think either Daicos or Sidebottom will give up much wing time next year
Yeah, it's hard to know if Sidey will play wing next year, his tank says he could but we would be better off easing his work load as Geelong done this year with Danger and Selwood

I agree Brodie needs to take a bit of a haircut, but I'm optimistic that, in the end, he will!

I would have assumed that if Brodie was willing to take a pay cut the size that we need him to, that probably would have happened by now no?
