Those third rounders will be used in trades we are making, e.g hill.
I honestly forgot about the trades
The answer is Darcy Moore into the ruck
Frampton CHB and Dean or McMahon FB
Picture Darcy leaping over opposition rucks and roaming free all over the ground
If we all knew the backline would not suffer at all that would be amazing

I’d be all for it if I thought his body could handle it. He could easily be the best ruck in the comp, but alas, I’m almost certain it would ruin him.

Re Grundy: the five stages of grief are:

I think we are all at various stages 😂. I’m at acceptance. We have a good crew steering the ship. In fly we trust.

Floreat Pica.
Agree.
It’s happening.
I’m tipping it’s been a long time coming…as in, last year.
When Wright opened the books on Ned Guy’s clusterf##k he must’ve popped an aneurysm.
Treloar, Stephenson, Phillips all ended up on the block (all players have regressed).
Grundy has moped around and been hot and cold for 2 years, even blaming an inability to “cope with covid bubbles”. I’m tipping he knew his head was on the block and was struggling to perform to the level of his payment (only the true greats like Buckley and Judd etc can deal with the pressure to live up to contracts).
Wright (and Bolton) were a huge part of what happened at Hawthorn. Nothing is happening by accident. This next month that unfolds has been planned since last year and the next 2 or 3 years are already planned.
I’m not sweating on any first rounder from Melbourne (or anything else of that nature). Wright has plans B….C…and D.
Be sure of that! 😉

At most Frampton has to be traded for a pick we wont use and given a 1 year contract on minimum chips. Anything more is overs and there is nothing to force us to make it any sweeter.

We supposedly beat out a St Kilda offer, so it won’t be one year or minimum chips.

The only problem with Moore is we don’t have 3 of him, my idea was to play McStay down back and send Moore to FF, and give him a decent crack at it this time.

Im so confused as to why people think Grundy should give up 20-30% of his wages for the club. The club that he signed that contract at just 2? years ago. 30% potentially is a bunch of money to just throw away. The guy is 28 and is making enough cash that could help set him and any family has for a great life. No one else is expected to take that sort of wage decrease.
Because he signed it before the covid crunch… and on the basis that we were getting an AA quality ruckman, which he isn’t anymore. And because he and his wage bill are holding us back from competing for a flag. Yes we agreed to the deal, but it’s up to him now to either hold us to it, or not, or move on. But there are Plenty of reasons why - in an equitable world - he could or should accept less, to keep playing for us.

Grundy lost me 3 times, last year….
1) Round 1 vs Dogs when he was strolling around, in the MCG corridor as we were getting pumped.
2) Freezing to death as I watched him getting nullified by inept GWS rucks on a miserable Saturday MCG night.
3) Watching Cameron and Lynch do to Gawn/Jackson on Buck’s last game at the SCG, what he had failed to do for the whole year.
…. He had signed his own papers.

Lol this stretch. Lynch didnt play 17, Boyd had a good series, they finished not even top 4. Brown is barely better than Cekkers last year. Indeed you can argue that the losing teams in those GF often had the better key forwards. Naughton, Hawkins,
This is a sure sign you have no idea what you're taking about. You don't know how much his contract is nor is there such thing as "performing at 600k". If the club made a bad contract, that is purely and clearly a fault of the club, and attacking a player who has given everything over his whole career for the pies is pathetic.

I'd love to see your face when your boss calls you a tool for not taking a 30% pay decrease when you've just been out sick despite working your ass off since you were 18 for them.
And Swans haven’t won a flag with Buddy yet. One million a year and no flags to date means it hasn’t worked.

You're late to the party.

Yeah 2017 was 3 time Coleman medallist J Reiwoldt 😂. Another ordinary key forward.

And thanks for adding the losing team on GF day also had elite key forwards. I wasn't going there but happy you brought it up to add more evidence.n
Doesn’t always work. Look at Sydney.

"My understanding is the football boss Graham Wright met with Grundy’s management and said we need his cap space off the boks."

Even when it wasn't the Saffers, I knew it was the Saffers!
I’ve been confused by this rationale all along…we are not achieving a single thing by ‘offloading’ Grundy and retaining 300k of his contract, we will never get a better player at the residual price. Only way it makes sense is if we get two early first round picks and we have some players targeted for those. We know that won’t happen though….
