Schultz will cost our first.
Bank it.
Will be nice to have both of them thenThat's good. Schultz has him covered so yeah
Our first is basically an early 2nd this yearThey can have our first. We ain’t getting a player or his quality in the draft with it
Fans I can understand but a journalist carrying on like this….laughable and cringeGo read the Freo board, it may be worse lol
I’d imagine we’d already had been looking for HBF in the case of Murph quittingThe Schultz move has obviously been underway for a while. Massive get for us. Expect Freo to play hardball - would we trade our 1st (currently 18 but likely 23/24 by the time of the draft?) Is that to steep?
Really offsets the loss of Tay as I think we can cover him in the midfield. As others have noted, Ginni must be feeling a tad nervous - would he be on the trade table?
As for Murphy - god I feel for him. Only a young guy and looks to have a real passion for the game and CFC. But he's a Premiership (never get tired of quoting this) player and if he retired which I think he should he will go out on a high.
Leaves us thin down back.
Note: My boss is a Freo supporter living in Melbourne and when I told him of the Schultz trade request he turned white - so funny
Future second rounder like Bobby then I guess considering how closely matched they are.
That does sway it a bit our way."Schultz triggered a contract extension this season after originally signing a new deal at the end of 2021. But the decision from Fremantle to delist him in 2020, so they could move him from the main list to the rookie list, means he is automatically an unrestricted free agent every time he comes out of contract.
ie. if Freo don't do a deal for him now (and he doesn't extend), then he becomes an Unrestricted free agent end next year
Puts an interesting spin on Freo's leverage ..
Beams goes missing in finals, and he was passed his peak, started to become injury prone. And if that isn’t enough of an argument for you, known to have mental problems (though I wish Beams the best, pressure from footy can only exacerbate it).Hard to make the case that a top 10 rated player in the league isn’t worth 2 late 1st round picks. Have a look at the AFLCA top 10 this year and tell me which 1 wouldn’t attract similar.
If a good player wants to come to your club, you make the deal happen. Not sure why we chasing another Small Forward?
No a Spot of Weakness I would of thought
Typical Peter Bell posturing isn't it?Freo made a statement saying Schultz won't be leaving so... don't count your chickens yet
Debatable. I'd imagine the compo would be pretty much the same as a trade now (end of 1st round pick).Wow …so he’s an unrestricted free agent next year…
This makes it even more interesting as the compo they would receive next year won’t nearly be as good as trade this year.
How’d they even allow that to happen in the first place?
Typical Peter Bell posturing isn't it?
