I'm surprised that the media hasn't made a bigger deal about the Geelong and Mackie shitshow. Here's a club that has stayed towards the top for a decade by topping up their list annually with players wanting to go home or looking for success.

Now Ratugolea has asked to go to Port TWICE in two years and they are saying no. Pick 24 is actually great for them for a player that was playing VFL. Chris Scott on 360 said that key defenders are worth too much and they want to keep him but last year with Ollie Henry the commentary was how Collingwood were mean because we were stopping a home sick kid go home to play with his brother. And then traded out the picks that would have got the deal done which meant it nearly didn't get done. But in the end Mackie got his way and the thing that pissed me off the most was his cocky snarky stupid face thinking he was the trade messiah at the end.

So I'm really hoping Port win this one even though they are a bigger threat to us next year.

The bigger thing is they are old, missed finals and he’s done nothing this trade period.

How do you miss finals and sit on your hands. Great list managing.

I would offer Freo 33 and 38 (and keep our 1st rounder) - take it or leave it and we get him for free next year.
I think something else is also happening that we are not seeing until next Wednesday.

Mackie is like that drunk racist uncle, no one wants anything to do with him, but your mum is forcing you to go talk to him.

I hope the Ratugolea trade falls through and he nominates the draft and they get nothing for him. I actually feel sorry for him (Ratugolea), it's clear he wants out of the Cats.

How is 19 not enough by itself! * off!
I agree but with these sorts of things, it’s probably more about how much is he worth to us? I think he will be an excellent addition and an upgrade to our half forward line. I would continue to push for this year’s 1st and maybe next years 2nd if they need something else to get it done.

Not overly excited about Shultz, would be even more disappointed if we give 1st & 2nd picks. Hey Freo, take 19 or 33 and **** off or keep the Umpa lumpa.

Rather a crack at Esva or Howard or even get Billings cheap.

Sick on not being in a good position with picks

Bro Mackie would ask for Naicos for Esava... probably more.

We shouldn't deal with Geelong at all.

dodoro likes this, it’s how how he approached bobby hill

Chances are we don’t get him next year, other clubs were planning to make a play for him next year, we’ve just jumped them by going for him now, but next year we’ll be in a bidding war.

My guess is it’ll be a 1st + GST.

Like Carlton did with Papley?

It doesn't work like that - you also run the risk of burning the bridge with Schultz for not getting the deal done.

Incorrect, he can go to whoever he pleases. Suitors will come with more money.
Fremantle would laugh at 33 and 38

19 should be the max offer then.
Is Schultz a player of immediate need ?
Now if it was a ruckman or a KPF - then yes - I just don't see small forward as a position of need.

That's the kind of risk you take for star KPP or absolute a-grade midfielder not some 30 goal a year pressure forward that has never been AA
You’re not going to get a star KPP for a pick in the teens prior to all the other BS that could get added on.

I think we are happy giving up slight overs on targets and slight unders on players going out with the view that we are probably going to really hand pick targets over the next few seasons with increasing cap space, winning culture, biggest club, very happy players that speak openly about the club in a super positive way... best to appear to be the nice guys in trade period
