As mentioned above;
Fly said in his presser: We don't have a pick, so unless there is an injury in the next week, we won't be taking part in the MSD

Put kreuger on the LTI

Needs a solid period of rest and then a solid block of training

Can’t trust his body enough to pick him for senior footy imo

What’s more he’s neither a ruck nor a key defender which are our greatest need depth wise

Kreuger can start again over summer

I don't think that'd be fair on Kreuger. You've got to let him play at either level right now whilst he's actually not broken in half for once.

Naismith turns 31 in July. He's played 30 senior games since 2014. 27 of those games came in the 2016/17 seasons. He last played at AFL level in 2020 (2 games). He has had 3 knee reconstructions.

He's every bit an injury risk as Kreuger.

Except he hasn’t injured his knee since June 2021… and has played a solid block of football this year

Krueger and his shoulders on the other hand…

So we’re gonna tell him, sorry mate, we’re gonna put your footy career on ice until next year, VFL and all, because we want to take a pot shot at a mid to late teens pick in the mid season draft?

What great both man and list management that’d be!

He’s had a bad injury history at Geelong. Come here and been subbed out in 4 of his 7 Collingwood games… had bugger all preseason this year… so that’s added stress on the body

can’t even get through a VFL game without being sent for scans.

Fanciful to think he’s gonna come in late season and play a significant role

But let’s just keep doing the same thing over and over again with him… keep sending him out … and hope for a different result 🤷‍♂️

Putting him on ice is ultimately doing him a favour… persevering his confidence, get his body right for 2024… the last year of his contract so he can put in his best effort and maybe get another contract

I'm not sure why we'd need Naismith, even if we had a list spot.
Cox is back, Cameron is back soon and we have McStay & Frampton who can both ruck.
Plus Begg & Steene.
yup.
Just what we need, a third ruck playing VFL lol

Begg is undersized and young, from all reports Steene is nowhere near it. Dont see the issue in adding a mature ruck. If 2 of Cameron/Cox/Moore/Frampton go down we are in trouble again for height.

If we dont have a list spot at the time then we dont have one and its a pointless convo

Kreuger (and the club) signed a contract in good faith. I’d have thought the main aim of that was that we’d give him the best possible chance to play senior footy. What you suggest just completely undermines all the good will the club has worked so hard to establish with the players under Wright and McRae. Simply not worth it. Particularly not for another ruckman.

Looking at some VFL games, Tom Downie had 20 touches, 1 goal, 63 hitouts to Beggs 11 touches, 1 goal, 22 hitouts 2 weeks ago

Max Lynch had 18 touches, 1 goal and 43 hitouts to Steenes 11 touches 22 hitouts

Nick Bryan had 17 touches, 45 hitouts to Steenes 10 touches 14 hitouts

Naismith had 16 touches 62 hitouts to Steenes 8 touches 17 hitouts

I think that shows you can't really count Begg and Steene as realistic options this season, was it a questionable decision to have two un usable developing rucks on the list at one time? Who knows but I dont think it should prevent us signing a mature one given we are trying to win a flag this year

*I'd also be in favour of a mature key defender
