What do you think they will want?
And what do you think he will want on financial terms?
He’s 30 next season in May…
He will want 3-4 year deal for sure and nothing short of $700k considering he is a brownlow medallist …

It’s a hard pass for me…

No idea but I doubt he could realistically ask and get those terms.

Yeah if he want that sort of coin we’d be better off with Dunkley.

Hawthorn were looking to offload him a while back, so, despite the Brownlow, that now makes him scratch and dent sale material.
Mitchell can't run, gets no attention because he can't hurt you with his possessions and the Hawks have been trying to dump him for years with no takers, ask yourself why.
Context matters. Hawks we're trying to offload Mitchell, Bruest, Gunston and JoM. All their senior players who they thought might have some value. They were ruthlessly trying to fast track a rebuild through the draft. It was no reflection of those blokes as footballers.

Keeler, KDF, top 15 Mid would be the absolute dream

Surely get at least 2 of the 3
In terms of needs, do we need another young kpd if we recruit Frampton. Frampton, Dean, MacMahon and maybe Kelly is a fair few developing ones. You'd take a best available one, but not another speculative one.

At the time of his recruitment, we considered him a part of our 22 moving forward, and our pitch to him to move to us was based around that.

He was a developing ruck/forward at the Swans, who moved for more senior opportunity, which is what we offered him. Same situation as when Nankervis left Sydney for the Tigers, and Witts left for the Suns.

I ask again, how do you propose we lure a player like that over if we are intending to only use them as depth?
We lure him on the basis that he moves purely beyond depth once Cox retires, and as Cameron progress to the later part of his career.

Once again you’re working on the assumption that Cox will be more than depth next year. It’s unlikely that we play him, Cameron, McStay, Checkers and AJ in the same team. From those players Cox is the likely out, so you’d be basing it solely on replacing Cameron down the road, and it’s unlikely that a player in the cusp moving for more opportunity will want to wait that long to replace the incumbent ruck.

Yes, I believe it's called a screaming eagle.

I don’t look at dean as someone who can play on the big KPF’s atm. Just my opinion.

I wouldn't either right now but it isn't his height stopping him. In any case not all match-ups need to be on the 200cm+ forwards.

He literally won their best and fairest last year so I think they probably rate him a bit higher than you think  .

They're in a rebuild now and at 29 he's clearly not in their future plans so they're moving him on, doesn't mean he hasn't been an excellent player for them over the past few years. Yes he's not elite by foot, but he works his ass off every game, wins his own ball and applies defensive pressure... Something our midfield is sorely lacking.

Hawthorn want him off the books, wouldn't be surprised if they let him go for around pick 25, especially if we pay all of Mitchels contract for next year.
They have loads in their cap
It will be the other way around
They will be after a higher draft pick and would pay a big chunk of the money
