If Henry leaves we'll surely end up with two first rounders.

Package them up for a top 5 pick and get Cadman. Easy money.
I'm not sure that will be the intention - it's certainly theoretically possible - but our biggest weakness is not in any single position or even a few.

Our biggest weakness is depth, the quickest way to increase your finals possibilities is to improve the bottom six.

By this I mean recruiting quality players in positions of need or utility - a number of them in the 20 to 30 range.

If they play to their daft potential you instantly improve the depth of the list significantly.

If it's a 3rd pick we pay a higher salary. $700k sound good?

If it's a lower salary we give up more in the deal. Either way he's not likely to come cheap.

Doubt we're considering this move, but we'll see.

Mitchell for a 3rd rounder, offer a 3 year deal and smooth it out.

Not sure if serious....WTF

Will be 30 early 2023, best is well behind him, and he won’t be cheap in terms of TPP even if the Hawks contribute. He’s contracted for 2023 so he’s looking for longevity in his contract if he’s moving. Just not worth bothering with.

Rather put our faith in the kids we already have and add extra development options via the draft.

The WTF is that posters are actually keen to add him.

You don't reckon our midfield needs another senior body in there? lol.

Happy to see how the kids go in 2023 with another preseason. Macrae, Carmichael, Harrison, McInnes, Murley, and Draper excite me more than the prospect of adding an aging player in decline looking to bolster the super.

That's all good and well if you're not in the premiership window. Those guys are all extremely young and have potential and years to fight for a spot. Otherwise there's the option of Mitchell who is I think a very good one for our specific list, we need an in and under clearance midfielder which is exactly what he is.

Of all the players we are linked to Mitchell is the one I am most excited about. An ex-Brownlow medallist, who won a B&F last year, still producing quality footy in our biggest area of need at inside mid. A 3rd rounder is nothing and a 3yr deal to get him to 32 is not risky given his proven durability and performance. The cap risk isn't there if we smooth out his contract. He's a no brainer.

B&F winner last year and averaging 26 disposals and 5 clearances playing as a high half forward. Not one of your best calls, he's exactly what we need while we are in the flag window. 30yo is nothing for an elite midfielder, he could maintain those averages for at least the next 3 years

I get to watch a lot of Hawthorn games and I don’t care what his stats suggest, his impact on games is in free fall. Just not worth what he’d cost in terms of TPP or trade. Happy for you to think otherwise.

Hes not getting played in the hawks midfield because Sam Mitchell wants to play the kids, Hes a decent stopgap that fits our needs really well.

Where are we this year without him?

Chicken or egg argument. Mitchell had his midfield opportunity early in the year and wasn’t impacting. Sam Mitchell moved him and gave kids opportunity because they lost nothing through their midfield without him and got development opportunity for some kids.
