No, he didnt. he wanted to go to Carlton, but we had an earlier pick and selected him even though we knew he didnt want to come.
Exactly…he didn’t want to be at Collingwood.
Couldn't wait to get out & transfer to Carlton (after 1 season 1993).
Didn’t play in the 95 Grand Final.
Played his best Footy at Sydney (early to mid 20’s).
Never reached those heights at Collingwood/Carlton.
Went into decline from age 27…retired age 30.

Fiorini's not playing for the Suns today in their VFL clash despite being a strong contributor all year. Interesting.
Not really. He’s played more than 12 AFL games this year so he’s not eligible to play finals iirc.

Agree.
People writing off Grundy, and dismissing McCrae’s ability to bringing him back to his best is ridiculous.

AND Cap goes up by $1.5mill., we are under no pressure to dump Grundy.

I thought the cap was only increasing by 650k?

I think the Herald Sun estimate of the top 100 paid players had him at $550-650k.
Still enormous value, but not quite the number you're suggesting.

Still, I think it puts perspective on McStay's value. We shouldn't be offering him much more than $500k, even if he does require shifting from a competitive club. If he wants to return to Vic and also be at a competitive club, he can sign for similar to what Brisbane are offering. We shouldn't be paying him overs as a role player.

That's still 50k a year above his rumoured Brisbane offer also.

Bad decision by the Pies powerbrokers of the time , recruited Mitchell to stitch Carlton up, knowing full well that Barry was only interested in getting too Carlton , which he did after the one year with us , his heart was never fully committed in his brief stay with us , hopefully if Tom does make his way to the Pies , he is doing so with total focus and desire , which going by his character, he will most certainly do .

It's 2022 and he was average to ok before being injured. 2021 he was average. 2020 cracks were showing however COVID wrecking everything at that point. 2019 he was elite.

I don’t play any of the fantasy footy stuff but those rankings had him the number 1 ranked ruck in 2019 and the 2nd ranked ruckman behind Gawn in 2020 and 2021. I think Tim English had pushed him to 3rd early in 2022. I’m just gonna say I have more faith in that than your opinion. I thought he was below his 2018-2019 best but the extent of that is way overblown.
