20 is very wishful thinking. As i think we'll get 26are the picks quoted for Richards.
I think we'll get 20 or 26 for Noble and I wouldn't be giving Richards away for anything over 30. GC are over draft picks, they want players and port are in desperate need of a good small forward

Gee

Calm down and take a breath
Ginnivan is clearly better than Richards Harrison.
You can go on until the cows come home about last year but this year he’s looking very complete and fit
He walks into our side this year if he was still on list
It's quite obvious that despite being informed by several posters, you're unable to grasp that Ginnivan is now playing a different role in a different system to what he was for us. So, I'm going to move on.

From ChatGPT - asked about Collingwood trade - hope this clears most things up.

"Deciding who Collingwood should trade depends on various factors, including their current team needs, player performance, and salary cap considerations. If you're looking for a specific suggestion, it would be best to assess recent player performances, injuries, and how well players fit into the team's long-term strategy. Typically, teams consider trading players who are either surplus to requirements, underperforming, or whose trade value is high relative to their contribution. For the most accurate advice, consulting recent analyses from sports analysts and reviewing Collingwood’s current roster and future plans would be beneficial."

What role is he playing differently? He's still playing the high HF role but is doing it better than with us. Could it be that ginni just wasn't happy at Collingwood and is now in a much better mindset. We really don't know anything, it's like the alleged cocaine addiction, I seriously doubt it exists. He's playing very good footy for an addict

he could have been a contender... if only he could have been able to play footy. Everything else was perfect. Perfect size. Perfect haircut. Perfect ex-Pie dad....
Yet he won a Copeland. We must have had a mighty bad side that year! Those older than m e might remember better, but if I recall correctly he went from finishing one season as a not so big guy to starting the following season an absolute monster. Must have been something in the water that summer.

His Dad had him shifting fridges etc in his storeroom

no you're right...he had that dominant one season where he averaged 10 hit outs a game and about 12 disposals.....and he kicked one massive goal early in the season. It was his only one but it was a beauty. People still talk about it.

The spin machine is in full effect. Brian Cook is at Carlton now. Watch them use the usual spin with their acquisitions.

How no journalist or AFL audit team has not done investigations into 3rd party dealings and land deals is staggering. If they are legal then just scrap the salary cap.

Carlton sure knows about 3rd Party's Deals

i think the main difference between the pies losing players and freo, is that freo is good at replacing them. When we lose a half decent player like mark keane, we're regretting it because we cant find someone to replace murphy. When freo lose griffen logue, they draft someone better....
We lost Treloar, Grundy, Stephenson and Phillips from our 2018 GF side and replaced them with Mitchell, Frampton, Hill and Lipinski in 2023 and won the grand final. Not sure if you thought this post through.

Collingwood's system requires forwards play tight defensively, pushing right up, causing turnovers. They also have to be selfless such as multiple leads and blocks knowing that they're not going to get on the end of it. Problem is that if a player doesn't adhere to this system, the opposition can get through the zone with ease. It's so important that in the off season the club prioritised and targetted the best pressure forward available.

They made 4 good trades...although hill and lipinski are the only longterm ones.

We can look and see what other recruiters have selected over the years and try to get them. Obviously drafting players directly from the draft is a hit or miss option... It's been too unreliable over the last decade

Our drafting has been good for the picks we have had. Players like Ginnivan, Noble, Mihocek, Maynard and Harrison are AFL standard and late, rookie or midseason picks. Most clubs struggle to make late picks work. Have you seriously looked into all 18 clubs and their drafting? Despite our poor draft picks we have finished top 4 close to half the time since Hine took over in 2005.

No
You are correct. I just looked at the 2020 Draft when we chose Henry (no longer at the club), Fin McRae (still to show anything that would convince one that he will become a regular AFL player), Reef McInnes (whereby the same applies to him as McRae), Liam McMahon (desisted) & one other whose name escapes me.

You are correct. I just looked at the 2020 Draft for example when we chose Henry (no longer at the club), Fin McRae (still to show anything that would convince one that he will become a regular AFL player), Reef McInnes (whereby the same applies to him as McRae), Caleb Poulter (delisted & now playing at another club) & Liam McMahon (delisted). I think that apart from Henry, it was a pretty poor selection of draftees in my opinion.
It was a very difficult draft to select after the top few obvious standout due to Covid
They have been quite a few misses from that draft and the one after simply due to the lack of footy played
