People bang on about Schultz deal, Ginni deal is much worse.

The full deal.

Collingwood gets: 33, Haw's F2 + Haw's F3
Hawthorn gets: Ginnivan, 39, Coll's F2 + Coll's F4

So basically we get a 3rd round selection (wouldn’t have used the 4th rounder any way) , a 6 spot upgrade last year which enabled TJ before pick 40, and a potential pick upgrade in second round this year

We, like freo v us; banked on that Hawks wouldn't be any better. And probably assumed we'd be as good as we were last year.
We were wrong.
There may not be much difference between their 2nd and our 2nd we gave them

In hindsight, we will probably end up with a top 10 pick this year. That would be very handy. We could pick up a very good player. Oh well
Yeah.
Couldn've would've should've.
No point in whinging anymore, can't change the fact. But lets hope.. we finally stop making stupid decisions.

May not work if we swap a future 2nd rounder for Club X's 3rd rounder and a player who's basically an inside mid but can play tall between the arcs who we then swap for an Academy pick who wants to play with his brother who doesn't play for us.

unfortunately reckon we finish below Hawks by EOY

so +/-, trade will wash up as Ginnivan to hawks for, more or less, nothing in return

Has always felt, Hawks or stay at saints for a while now.

"Hawthorn is increasingly confident that Josh Battle is leaning towards crossing to the Hawks as the dream team combination – pro-scout Jarryd Roughead and coach Sam Mitchell – work their magic."

It was all a little upgrade for a player we wanted to get rid of, (I think people forget that bit).
Swans did a similar thing with Darcy Cameron, (not comparing the reasons to Ginni btw) and he's played in our Premiership now.

Daniel is an interesting one. His ball use out of the backline is something we need, but is he a liability defensively?

We have noble down there as well who also can be a liability aerially.

These are the type of moves we need to be looking at however. Our list is getting older and we haven't got a lot of tradeable picks to land big talent.
Daniel is not the quickest. He has been tagged a few times and this has somewhat nullified his run and carry. As his % of contested possessions has increased his direct turnovers has increased

But not enough to achieve the much smaller hurdle of current best 22 at WB.
Times and the game have changed.
He finished 4th in the WB BnF as recently as last year. And has consistently been in the top 5-6 BnF finishers at the Dogs for the last 7 years.

You don't lose that talent and ability so quickly at the age of 28. He's simply out of favour because Bevo has decided to go in a different direction. Not too dissimilar to Mitchell at the Hawks. He's exactly the type of undervalued gun that (hopefully) we can target for cheap.

Can we please put a line through Daniel....for goodness sake even Bevo has come to realise that Daniel is a liability behind the ball. His height sees him sat on by marking small forwards, sides don't tag him they take him deep forward and expose him. So The Dogs have tried him in the mids and mid forward and he's not quick enough for either role.

We don't need a poor man's Johnny Noble and we don't need his wage on our books as well. Let the Dogs pay it.

Our style has been worked out. We need a couple of half backs who can hit a target rather than just trying to take territory. Howe and Maynard are the only two who can kick from the back half but they have to keep their shap rather than running to recieve. Noble, IQ and Markov just take territory and then kick it long to an outnumber, rather than hitting a target and allowing players time to transition. Daniel would give us a different way of transitioning fron defence, which we're really struggling to do as teams are covering of the run and gun through the guts and our runners don't kick it well enough to move it any other way.

Just prepare to be disappointed, Wil Brodie is a Wafl player, we won't be chasing him, he's not very good, it's just the truth. Much rather Will Phillips or the Crows Berry, madness wanting a has been.

Wow. Will Phillips over Brodie. Enough said. Probably why I don’t rate your opinion. Let alone the fact you are narcissistic enough to consider your opinion the ‘truth’.

Brodie has played a whole stellar season of footy when given the chance. Will Phillips hasn’t even played a stellar game.
