end of the day, even if we come out of the trade period with Aish and maybe some other lesser like it's still a reasonably successful off season specifically if we hold Scharenberg.

Aish, Scharenberg and Freeman are basically all new recruits.. our premiership window still opens in 2017-18.

My biggest concern is our premiership window opens up around the same time as GC and GWS.

Mate, you're just ranting. What you said is ridiculous.

It really isn't, but since your argument is "that's crazy talk!" as opposed to an actual rebuttal, I guess I should feel ok to dismiss your opinion?

I actually enjoy being proven wrong if it means I learn something in the process, so please, honestly, feel free to explain to me how our club is one that is ruthless in it's endeavours to consistently win flags on an even SEMI regular basis.

IF we have missed out on Treloar.

How about we grab Aish, re-sign Shaz, hold pick 7 (for best KP player fwd or back) and then throw a bucket of cash at the Jaegar bomb when he comes out of contract at the end of next year.
I like the idea of holding on to pick 7. Use it. Bring in another young gun with it. Sigb Shaz and buy Dangerfeild.

I don't think we have screwed anything up. Richmond is a better prospect atm for a young mid to head to. Treloar isn't a Collingwood supporter, Carlton IIRC, not that it has much to do with anything, but the only way we screwed this up is by not being as far advanced/developed as Richmond in terms of finals. All teams are going to be in different stages of rebuild/competitiveness and unfortunately we are competing both on and off field with teams like Richmond.

I'm still not convinced this is all over just yet, but at the same time I can live without Treloar coming here.

Also Treloar cannot officially sign until after finals. He will see Richmond get knocked out first round by Adelaide and then remember that cannot win finals

I knew KB's comments would cause shit on these forums... Seriously the old fella's words are worth as much as a grain of salt. He got what he wanted.. By bringing Richmond into the picture just to try and rub shoulders with our club and rub a few people up.

No one knows anything yet. Settle people the kid still has two games left before the season ends.

It is impossible to rebutt crazy talk.

The best I can say is that the club has had periods in the past where they have been distracted from the ultimate aim such as in the mid to late 90's but all clubs have had those periods. Since Eddie took over the club is focussed on the ultimate success and has achieved it once and gone close a couple of other times. They are clearly premiership focussed.

What better way to boost ego, memberships, fame etc than to win premierships???

The simple question re Treloar to Richmond is who will they get the trade done.

Their first round will be too high, their second round with it not enough. Future picks? Too hard to guess what that will be worth as they push for a flag.

GWS don't want players and the Tiges thinking they are in the window will not want to give up anything valuable as does not progress their list and that rules out a three way deal also.

If Treloar nominates them then it puts Richmond in the box seat but I can't see it happening to be honest.

Just on list development at the Pies. On a needs basis I would be trying to get two out of these three:

1. Yarran, smooth mover with pace and good foot skills off half back, something in short supply. Yes has some issues but playing at Carlton would send anyone nuts.

2. Hall, good pace, good around goals, would complement Cloke/Moore/Elliot who are all marking types. Can also rotate through the middle and provide run. Him and Varcoe rotating from the forward pocket and on ball would add a lot.

3. Motlop, similar to Hall.

I just reckon that's what's needed more.

I think people should be prepared for another let down should we take our pick 7 to the draft as a key forward option isn't likely to be Hines first preference.

Someone like Curnow might be a good compromise as that 3rd tall forward/big bodied midfield option.
