You need to stop listening to the buffoons on trade radio when there speculating because most of these guys either once worked at a football club or aspire to work for a football club. Based on there understanding of what's relevant, they have no hope in hell of ever working for one.
Wallace calls himself 'The List Manager" but could never manage a list when he had one.

Oh ok so now you're telling me what I should and shouldn't do. What a warrior you are. Unfortunately they have more credit then your good self. Be gone now.

I don't understand why people listen to trade radio a week before the trade period starts. Its painfully slow during trade week so getting in early is like watching enamel paint dry during winter.
I don't understand why people go to Bingo nights, but they do.

1st Round 2015 and 2016 for Treloar and Tomlinson
Oxley and Pick 26 for Aish
Seedsman for Pick 22 (Wiedeman)
Freeman for Pick 24
Kennedy for Pick 25
Pick 24, 25 and 44 for Pick 14 (Burton)
4th Round used on Mitch Brown
5th Round used on Shane Yarran
6th Round upgrade Jack Frost

Dreaming I know I know.
Id be happy with Pick 24 for Brown considering its a shallow Draft ?.

Andy Maher on SEN reckons that we are offering 1st round this year & 2nd round this year which GWS are baulking at it. Apparently Carlton have offered significantly more money and told Treloar that they will take him in the PSD and Treloar is open to that. Andy reckons that the Carlton part is not a rumour.

Funny conversation though. Andre Gaze was saying this is a good thing for the Pies because GWS could lose him for nothing, and Maher is trying to argue why this is a bad situation and puts more pressure on us than GWS.

On a side - comparing us to Geelong this trade period.

Both clubs seem to be in a similar phase of rebuilding without bottoming out completely.

But boy, aren't they a destination club?

Zac Smith today nominated the Cats.
Plus Lachie Henderson, Scott Selwood, Danger. And they've been able to hang onto players who were somewhat on the outer like Motlop.

Has me wondering - why aren't we being as aggressive? Treloar in, several outs, and a few picks in the 20s or some lowly players from Port - doesn't sound too promising in comparison.

If they get all of them top 8-4 will beckon

Why is the media so in love with the idea of us missing out on Treloar? It's a weird obsession. Mick Warner insisted the other day that Richmond could still trump us but when pressed couldn't explain how

And yet the kid himself has said publicly on multiple occasions he is only interested in going to Collingwood

Just to add a little further detail.

He did preface his comments by stating that he fully expects AT to be at the Pies in 2016 and I'm reasonably confident he didn't say that the money was significantly more. Enough to have Carlton in the frame should the deal fall through was my read on it.

Ultimately it's a good outcome for us bevause it provides leverage if Gubby plays hardball, but I did get a chuckle out of Maher getting up and about over the news and then slowly deflating like a footy with a puncture when Gaze explained the benefits to Collingwood.

It was obvious Maher was pumped over it then realised it was a bit of a let-down, priceless hah!

3 out of 4 of those are pretty meh players

To a point i agree
Henderson was poor in a poor team but who did play well in that team apart from Crisp ? He will be better at the Cats
Sellwood West Coast didnt make him VC for no good reason
Smith we all have seen how good he was in his 1st season
My opinion is they will improve and i did say 8-4

This is something that annoys me. Regardless of what team some of these guys support / work within they are incapable of being professional within their media roles.

Richo was a case in point recently. When there was a chance Tigers may play Bulldogs in a final he and Mick Warner (another Tigers supporter) were strenuously debating that even if the Bulldogs finishing above Tigers, the final should be played at the MCG. When it was the Crows playing he argued till he was blue in the face that it should be played at Ethiad as they finished above them. When challenged on his change of heart he said he was half joking originally.

That is just an example- Eddie included- it is a sad reflection on the footy media that they can't discuss issues on face value. They get paid well enough to do so.

Maher said he spoke to Treloar's manager off air. Opens himself up to a fair bit of flack if the manager denies it. It'd be true but GWS risk getting nothing. SOS is happily burning bridges.

I didn't here that aspect, but my take on it is that it's probably a controlled leak from the manager to make Treloar's path to Collingwood easier.

He passes the info to Maher in the knowledge it'll come out. Then when quizzed on it by the media he states that discussions are still ongoing (nothing statement to neither confirm or deny the info). Meanwhile he's in constant contact with GWS and Collingwood to ensure a deal is dome smoothly.

Job done as a manager because he makes AT's path to Collingwood smoother by using Carlton as leverage.

But Treloar barracked for Carlton when he was a kid...........that is why he chose Collingwood :drunk:

P.S I hope our Club sticks to the "no comment" line as they have done so far.

If you were Treloar's manager & you wanted to help make sure your client got to his preferred destination, one thing you could do is make up that rumour & tell it to Andy Maher. He can't keep his mouth shut, he's a massive Carlton fan, he'll spout the rumour live on radio & it gives Collingwood leverage to help the deal get done ;)

I think you need to take your own advise. I live next door to a real AFL list manager.

Terry Wallace is a failed coach who does not know the inner workings of any football club but feels compelled to dribble his way to some sort of fame.
I can count on one hand the amount of times he has got something right, but there is an endless list of times when he has got it wrong.
Barrett should stick to rumours rather than opinions because he is blatantly wrong when he expresses his opinion.

Wasn't Wallace saying that Collingwood should except pick 5 for Beams during last seasons trade talk because that's all they will get?
