McPherson was very highly regarded at Melbourne they had big plans for him so it was somewhat of a coup for us when we got him. He may not have actually done anything wrong but was always on borrowed time with Todd Viney coming on board.

It's like a Heist Movie, we're getting back all the old crew members, even if they didn't play together.

Clarko (and Sonja) has already achieved 50% of his overall goal and he hasn’t even started. The fact that, all of a sudden, we are an absolute destination club brings huge advantages. Even if Peter Bell doesn’t come over, you can bet your life that he’ll think about it. A couple of weeks ago he wouldn’t have given it a second thought. We are the “place to be” for any coach or player, knowing that they’re getting in right at the start. They can be confident that that will get every opportunity to excel. Literally, we are now the type of club that we hated and envied up until Friday. Paradigm shift doesn’t even scratch the surface of this sh1t!

Even the fact that his intro song is ‘The Voice of Reason’ rubs me the wrong way. He will just cut someone off that disagrees with him & I have it on good authority that he has a pocket thesaurus on him at all times.
I once had a beer with him (well, I was drinking a schooner of MB & he had a schooner of Muum Champagne) & when I said ‘Cheers’ he said ‘à votre santé’
I then asked Byron Pickett (who was dining with us at the time) to shirt front him into next week.

i think he's a little sanctimonious at times, and i don't like listening to him re Geelong, but for the most part i personally think he's considered and reasonable in his takes and perfect reasonable. i much prefer someone like him to a Kane Cornes, for example
