Might not have been impromptu.

Goldy said that the leadership group mentioned it a couple of weeks ago but wouldn’t say where they were going, so it’s at least 2 weeks notice.

Down the Murray they’re going apparently? That was the favored haunt of the 90s team wasn’t it?

Yep. I used to ski/wakeboard from Merool in Moama when I was a kid and the North boys were there all the time. They used to camp across the river from the beach.

I get the comparison that Lloyd is trying to make with Walsh, but Carlton were nowhere near as bad as we are when he was drafted.

And he had players like Marc Murphy, Kreuzer, Cripps, Dow, Simpson, McGovern, Weitering, Fisher, Curnowx2, Thomas, Casboult, Setterfield around him playing roles. Yeah it's not exactly a list of world beaters, but it was a lot more support than what JHF is getting.

They lost 4 games by greater than 50 points. We've lost that many in the first 1/4 of the season. It's a lot easier to put in numbers when games are being lost by 4 goals or less(14 losses).

You can't throw up those first year numbers and try and make a point by them, because they're two vastly different situations.

This media campaign to sow doubt and division into an 18yo and a club is pretty disgusting. Never seen anything like it before.

Theyre like chickens that have seen blood on another chook, they’ll just keep pecking away till they kill it or will stop when the wound gets fixed. I’d call them sharks but sharks are respectable.

We should have never let go of dumont, as much as I didn’t rate him it would have really provided more support & more leadership (than Kayne Turner)

But I don’t know what we were expecting delisting 2 best 22 senior players and trading another. With no intention to cover those positions rather force natural half backs into becoming a wingers and growing wingers to become KPDs.

All I can think of as in support to JHF: goldy, cunners, Ziebs?, LMac

The media needs to shift their focus away from JHF and look at our supposed leaders of the club.

Simpkin - apparent next captain of the club - makes a shocking turnover and just feels sorry for himself instead of chasing the ball back. Clearly not the right attitude.

Ziebs - current captain - okay what is he doing on and off the field to make sure that the boys have full trust in him.

And so on and so on.

Agree, buy gee it's going to be uncomfortable when the boys tell JZ and Kayne that they're no longer close to AFL standard (I assume they'll be nice and avoid telling Kayne that he never was).
A bit of discomfort is what's needed here LTK. I'm just not sure who's going to have the Kahunas to speak up first.

2007, except exchange that 18yo for then current and many prominent ex-players.

In a way, I would like us to tell the media nothing pre, during and post game. Only Marc McGowan and Rohan Connely have assumed good faith in our favour in the past 15 years.

I hope the boys honestly get there, rally around each other to build up camp and help each other out, get the fires going, few meats or fish from Benny’s catchings and crack open a few tinnies for a few laughs and before into the wee hours they get dead serious and air their grievances and have an honest discussion where everyone feels comfortable enough to speak their piece. That’s all you can ask for out of this, not a strategic discussion, no game analysis, none of that administrative bullshit.

It needs to be a real heart to heart between team mates who need to be asked the question: “Look, are you in or are you out? Because we’re sticking fat to these shit times in the hope the genuine success that follows tastes all the more sweeter”.

Fingers crossed this isn’t some dire Adelaide style camp, but something simple and honest that gives a massive benefit to the team after the bye.

I find the experience of anything I read or hear from Cowro or lloyd as the same emotion I have when I stand in dog poo.

May as well get used to it Val because it will continue for the next 18 months to 2 years, regardless of who is coaching, we simply have a list so devoid of experienced talent tht we are relying on JZ and Kayno in the absence of Cunners to provide real on-field experience. dont get me wrong, this post isnt intended as a blame casting scenario its just facing facts as per where we are atm,

LDU, Bmac and Jy are still a few years away from being at their peak whilst LMAC is prolly in that age profile where he should be there but i think he struggles without support. Jed and greenwood and corr stop gap measures until we get genuine a graders to be the core of the squad. this of course still relies on a fair proportion of out list not turning out to be busts. form my observations i reckon we may have at minimum another 14 odd players to turn over before we will be able to see if we have sufficient talent.

footscray, godees and richmonds premierships have pointed out a pretty obvious pattern re modern flag tilts, and that is that your simply not going to go deep into finals without great depth. no coincidence these teams all played off deep vfl finals same years they had AFL success.

No doubt the scrutiny is intense but he brings a lot of attention to himself given his emotions on the ground.

Not very often do you have a no. 1 draft pick who has played hardly any games having cracks at his teammates and showing his annoyance on field to the level he does.

He needs a decent mentor apart from his father.

I love his intensity and his will to win but he needs to understand his place in the team.

I would love to see them come away from their Winter break with Cunners taking him under his wing. I get the impression that he is the kind of laid back country boy that JHF would warm to.

In the first clip Kane makes a good point about stoppages.

But I must question, is that David’s problem or are we not holding players accountable for setting up around stoppages? I continue to stress about our players stepping up, I don’t care if it’s greenwood, Jed, jy, etc. someone around stoppages has to do it.

We have enough experience in the midfield to do it.

It just bloody looks like we are a bunch of lazy ball watching players.

Bang on the money Ligma!

You can teach all the structures in the world, but if we continue with the stupid "see ball, get ball" mentality and continue to get sucked into the contest, we will continue to get slaughtered on the outside.

The accountability needs to come in the weekly reviews with repeat offenders going to the twos until they can demonstrate adherence to team rules and structures.

It's coaching in my opinion. Even if the players are dumb, get them out and replace them with players that can work for eachother.
A better set up around stoppages and clearance would make us a 4 to 5 goal better side instantly.

Caro, purple and others dislike we have a potential star in our team and wants us to fail. It’s honestly not surprising

This is why anything in the media can get f**ked. All of them have a agenda and a narrative to push, they couldn’t give a shit about anyones mental health (look at the Shaw situation - sensitive subject I know)

Even if it’s planned, the camping together may bring out some honest truths. Need to try to galvanise this group quick, because the media wants us to be a complete failure (if we let ‘em)

Fingers crossed it helps 🤞

No one is listening to Noble. Even if he’s lost a small part of the group, it will spread like wild fire.
