I wrote at the time of JHF's arrival at Arden St that if he was the man (19 year old boy, Power readers) we were led to believe he would have looked at the Carey pics on the wall and said to himself, 'feck that bloke, I'll be the best player North has ever had.'

But brave JHF ran away instead. Courageously though, from all reports.

The attempted spin by using "courageous" detracts from everything. They're morons for not knowing that, but they'd rather make him into a heroic kid than just a regular one.
"courageous"
Courageous is the most hackneyed, hyperbolic, over-used and abused term used by commentators across all media platforms in relation to football.

Replaces "Brave".

According to Leigh Matthews, JHF cannot be described as courageous. He walked out on NM says Matthews. Therefore dont complain about the boos.

The decision was one of cowardice, not courage.
Courage is when you head full tilt into something despite knowing the risks, and the dire consequences of those risks. JHFF has admitted he doesn't understand why other teams are booing him so he had no idea about the consequences of his decision. He has also admitted his decision would put him in a safer, less risky situation. JHFF has also admitted that he made mistakes at North and that he hasn't taken too well about being told he's not the best player. The interview confirmed this is what caused friction at North. So instead of addressing the friction head on, he chose to run and hide.

There was absolutely nothing courageous about his decision. It was the most gutless one he could have made.

Courageous decision is funny , colluded with another club and was never staying.
That's why he is being booed by other club's supporters. Whether you like North or not, what he did is seen as a shit act, and regardless you don't do things like that. He could've waited the 2 years and gone back if he was that desperate to get back to Adelaide, but he chose the immature snide approach. Personally, I don't give a shit. Long term, we've done well out of it.

He's drinking his own bathwater now too. Did some interview today about the booing and used the exact phrase 'I made the courageous decision.'

It's funny because I'd bet a large amount of money that he didn't believe it was courageous when he moved back, but he's had so much smoke blown up his ass by figures in the media, and likely the woman beater and his Mum, that he now apparently believes it.

It almost feels to me like his head is empty and gets filled with whatever people tell him. Fabian and Kochhead say 'move to Poort,' he says ok, when anyone with half a brain cell would go 'hang on, that's not right.' Media say 'yes your cowardly act was courageous' and he says 'I spose it was.' I wonder what the kid's most recent original thought was. Probably that he should go the casino and blow some cash

That article made out like he was conscripted to the army.

AFL football especially in the spotlight isn't an easy gig. The courageous decision would have been to pull the pin and retire if you don't think you're up being an AFL footballer. No one is forcing him to play footy (maybe his stepdad). Former one pick has done it - and there was no shame in that.

Personally, he would have been a distraction that we didn't need and for him and us, glad he's gone and we've got Sheez and Ward. I'm happy to move on.

Sonja doesn't need to pump Jason's tyres. Just a simple "best for both parties that we parted ways, and we don't condone booing" would have sufficed.

I was initially dirty Port didn't pay big for JHFF, but as the weeks have gone on - it's increasingly likely Kenny is there for a while longer. That's brutal IMO.

And bravo to Chadworth for pumping him up and keeping him there too. The ultimate anti-hero.

they paid enough for an upgrade imo, the fact there wasnt a lot of punitive cost on top for their part in the underhandling dealings might be an issue but iam happy to let karma deal withthat. and the booing is likely part of that given so far none has even came from us.

Considering how strong Caro has been on stamping out violence against woman and the “boys club” mentality that exists in football I cannot believe she didn’t call out Fabian in more detail.

The story here is the step dad who is a wife beating piece of work is has a stupid amount of power over his step son who is crying out for a father figure after being abandoned by his birth father.

Francis is a serious piece of work and shouldn’t be allowed in any football club environment, period. See below from 2012 when he was sentenced to 15 months jail.

“In August a jury found Francis guilty of bashing Ms Buckskin in the face, threatening to stab her in the throat and threatening to injure her to such an extent that she would only be able to drink through a straw.”

I feel sorry for JHF and hopefully he can forge his own path in life. We will be fine, George will be a gun and hopefully we pick up someone decent with Port’s pick this year.

Is Fabian allowed into the change rooms after games? Didn’t they ban Toby Mitchell from joining Jake king because of his criminal history?

The club has watchfully navigated this awkward situation by respecting the teenaged Horne-Francis’ strong reliance upon his stepfather, along with Francis’ club history. To date, they have welcomed him back to Alberton. Francis stood alongside a plethora of equally shattered parents and players and staff after the round-three Showdown loss.

Very weak by Caro call this out as pathetic by Port

caro isnt about equity or safety for women, caro is about caro remaining desperately attempting to remain relevent.
