Yeah I’ve conscientiously decided to avoid all Cornes media. You can pretty much throw in Caro and Hutchy as well. No more SEN, no more Footy Classified. Hopefully a few more do likewise and the ratings drop and they move on to a different style of news reporting.

I’ve not listened to or read any of his stuff since I switched the Sunday footy show off 6 weeks ago when he came out dressed as JHF.

I left for Italy last year on such high as we had just appointed Clarko a few days before. I then came home to the news of the racism scandal!

God knows what it will be this time?? Maybe some wins!

All I know is that North is the gift that keeps on giving the last few years and I’m looking forward to the day that stops….

I was an idiot and watched it this morning.

It started with Griffo being interviewed by channel 7 before the game. He joked that he has put on 5kgs. This is all Cornes needed. They then showed clips of Griffo missing tackles and getting out marked. Lloyd said that he was joking but Cornes had none of it as he believes that Griffo has put on weight and this is unacceptable for a player who has signed a long term contract on big money.

They then moved to showing a table with the amount of winning and losing games for North players. They also included their contract status. They talked about McKay as he has played in 17 winning games and 58 losing games. This gave Cornes the chance to raise JHF and how he is performing on the big stage and is enjoying his footy being well supported.

The bit that really annoyed me was they included George Wardlaw in the table who hasn't played a game.

They then moved onto to Clarko and how he isn't performing.

We have put up with years of relocation talk and now i fear the new tactic is to turn us into the GWS and Gold Coast of Victoria. We have already lost a number 1 draft pick to another team. Losing someone like McKay would be a disaster. Yes we would get a high draft pick but i fear the other clubs will come after them when they are 25 and above.

Our fate is really in Clarko's hand. Hopefully we can recruit some players this year to improve our performance because being need the bottom is not a safe place to be.

Unfortunately this is spot on. Mckay out of contact end of 2023 and not one person in the media has suggested he should stay. That would mean within 12 months have lost JHF and Mckay. Next year Simpkin, Larkey. Bull and Powell out of contact, while i dont think we will lose all it would be unlikely all 4 stay unless there is drastic improvement. It is worrying, way i see it we have a year and a half to turn it around and be able to sell a reason to stay.
