Our percentage went up by something like 15% simply getting rid of Noble and putting in a coach that understands tactics. I'd be expecting another jump of close to that after a proper preseason (as opposed to the Hawthorn saga induced mess of last year) now spent on the long term gameplan. What's shocking is that would still leave us bottom 4 most likely. The successive failures from the end of the Scott era onwards left us in such a hole urgh.

The funny thing is a team that won 9 games last year still finished bottom 4.
That’s rare though. It’s the only time 9 wins has been bottom 4 in the 18 team era and only the second time since 2003 Even allowing for the 23rd game, 8 wins is rare.

Ok fine we finished 4th bottom with 9 wins in 2001. We’ve got form.

I mean I did say it was funny.

If we get 9 wins, I'll predict that will put us above West Coast, Hawthorn, Richmond and Geelong.

Swap out Geelong for Freo or Gold Coast, and yup. I agree.

Completely off the top of my head, and at the sput of the moment, my ladder prediction for 2024 is as follows;

  1. Brisbane
  2. Collingwood
  3. GWS
  4. Bulldogs
  5. St Kilda
  6. Carlton
  7. Sydney
  8. Port
  9. Geelong
  10. Adelaide
  11. Melbourne
  12. NORTH MELBOURNE
  13. Essendon
  14. Fremantle
  15. Richmond
  16. Gold Coast
  17. Hawthorn
  18. West Coast

There's only ever a finite amount of shitness to go round and it's been hogged by two sides as of late, leaving other sides free to mill about in no man's land.

I'm not sure who we finish above, aside from weagles. Yze strikes me as someone who may do an Adam Kingsley, and shlong will feed their magic potion, consisting of Corio saltwater and the harvested organs of small children, to multiple draftees, enabling them to rocket to potential-Hall-of-Fame status within two years. Then there's Sam Mitchell at Dawks, who I openly admire despite my filthy feelings about doing so.

We're going to have to hope someone falls much faster than we thought if we're to climb much at all

Cornhole setting us up so if we don't get 9 wins he will smash us end of year
Yeah so he has also said that port wont make the 8.

That effectively saying they get 11 wins.

And he is now saying we should get 9.

What a toss of a bloke. Clearly trying to avoid having to razz ports results next year so he can hide his hypocrisy.

yep and their list profile is clearly built at winning a premiership now. just recruited an experienced ruckman, have one of the best midfields in the comp - a forward line with no real weaknesses (although dixon is very overrrated, his output and contested marking ability is average for a bloke his size and with the amount of service he gets). to suggest they're not making the eight is basically saying Hinkley is useless, even though it's the opposite he's trying to achieve with it.

Geelong will fall quicker than most seem to think IMO
