At the end of the day, there are always just a few really standout players in a season. You can throw a blanket over the rest. North have no right to be in any conversations - at this stage. That’s just a given. That doesn’t mean we don’t have future stars. On every conceivable standard, we have been the most uncompetitive team in AFL history, arguably. That just has to be reflected in the awards. Our best hopes are RS right now - naturally. Xerri has been a revelation but half of NM BigFooty have been rubbishing him on here regularly because of his apparent shortcomings. Sheezel is a future champ but has not been able to influence games so much, due completely to our general sh1tness. Larkey is a potential champion but has only 24 goals so far. Comben will have his moments in the future. Overall, for mine, as regards AA selections right now - as expected/warranted. It will change, though.

Agree, I'm not suggesting we should have ANY AA this season, Xerri could be a chance....But what I will say we do have AA quality in the team right now....for all the panic discussion re our talls, Larkey, Comben, and Xerri, is a pretty good spine by anyones standards, Sheez, wardlaw, mckercher and LDU in the mids,,,,,,could argue all could feature in AA teams in future. We need to build out support around those guys and develop the kids we have.

I was perplexed by that, equally so when Collingwood played on in another play to miss a goal and was brought back for no advantage, and yet I still have no clue why a 50 (and resulting goal) was paid against Tommy P.
