Coach thinks second/third round. He’s a gun, great kick.

Yeah from what I've been reading from the guys in this thread he's rated very highly - fingers crossed his injury isn't too serious - just wondering if he misses getting recruited if it's a bad one.

For those who might be interested, Hewett is playing league right now against our WAFL side

Uggh…that’s disappointing to hear about Wardlaw. Surely too risky at pick 1 or 2 now, which is a damn shame. Have been locked in on him as our pick from back in the dark days of round 5-10

Unlucky for the kid and I hope be can get his hammies right. He will still get drafted and early.

However Im not unhappy if we look elsewhere. The amount of hype some on here have for him was OTT.

I would laugh my arse off if we split pick 1 and landed Phillipou and THEN drafted Wardlaw after sliding to our 2nd 1st rounder we somehow traded in.

Humphrey wasnt even in the top 25 a month ago. Now he's a top 10 bolter.

I disagree. In the scenario I mentioned, we'd essentially lose nothing by bringing him in.

Whether Dev himself ends up being a good player or not we will have to wait and see. But to suggest it's never worth picking up a fringe player from another club just isn't true. Plenty of guys have struggled early and excelled in a new environment, which we're seeing this year with freo with the likes of Acres, Aish, Clark, and Brodie helping them climb back into the finals.

You could argue Jones has been a good example of a guy that was delisted by the cats but is playing at least a reasonable role for us at the moment.

Just because we've taken some spuds in the past doesn't mean we should give up on the idea entirely.

Wonder what DH Maulthouse has to say about Josh Kennedy who just retired at the Swans this week?

Hewett just kicked a goal

Also, Broadbent had his best game in a while at Colts level. Would still happily grab him with our third if we miss out on Keeler / Barnett

It would really top this year off if we miss out on pick 1 by 0.1% because our pimply purple cousins are afraid of the rain.

With Wardlaw a cripple, what do we do if North take Phillipou?

I can’t see North not taking Wardlaw, Sheezel or Busslinger, I’m 99% sure we will get a crack at Phillipou, sadly I don’t think we will select him though

Tom Barrass would gut the dogs really. Think getting would cause more harm than any good

If Cadman really were our target, then I'd at least hope we'd try and orchestrate some sort of slide down the ladder for an extra first.

I haven't lost hope in Warlord yet though, just gotta back ourselves to get him right, ala Judd.

Looks like Broadbent had a good game, 34 hitouts and 3 goals

Was at the game, kicked the goals but I thought his younger counterpart was more impressive. Mitchell Edwards if he continues his development is looking like a standout next year. Already 205cm and only about 85kg's.

Corey Tregenza-Cashell might have done enough to put himself in rookie list contention today.
