Was at the game, kicked the goals but I thought his younger counterpart was more impressive. Mitchell Edwards if he continues his development is looking like a standout next year. Already 205cm and only about 85kg's.

Corey Tregenza-Cashell might have done enough to put himself in rookie list contention today.

I agree, I’m higher on Edwards, but wouldn’t be against Broadbent with our 3rd by any means. I think he’s better than what he has shown this season

I find it hard to believe that 1, Barrass is actually interested and 2, West Coast would entertain a trade.
He signed a 5 year contract last year and hearing him talk this week he indicated he would be interested in captaining the club when Hurn hands over the reins. That doesn't sound like a player looking to leave.
Barrass is one of the best KPD in the competition and at 26 has many years left, it doesn't make any sense for the club to entertain trading him.
It won't happen and is sheer fantasy that the Dogs could get him.
Barrass turned down a massive contract from Sydney last year saying he loves the club and wants to stay long term .

He then signs a 5 year contract .

Why do all the dogs supporters think he wants to go to your club ?

Nathan freeman vibes .

Explosive inside mid who can't get on the park

At least Wardlaw can kick. That was Freeman's problem once he came back and got fit. He'd lost his agility and explosiveness so was just an average player with average skills.

In doing his knee Gilbey will certainly be there for our third rounder if we want him. I didn't see the incident but was it his kicking leg does anyone know? It's the difference in whether or not i'd pick him up.

Looked like it was his left knee, which is his kicking leg.

He did an Ah Chee tried to take mark of the year and its looked like his knee gave away as he landed.

It may not have been as bad as it looked ,I certainly hope so.

There was nothing officially said, more so the fact that he couldn't put any weight on it and he looked in pain and it looked bad.

Fingers crossed for Sam.

Unlucky for the kid and I hope be can get his hammies right. He will still get drafted and early.

However Im not unhappy if we look elsewhere. The amount of hype some on here have for him was OTT.

I would laugh my arse off if we split pick 1 and landed Phillipou and THEN drafted Wardlaw after sliding to our 2nd 1st rounder we somehow traded in.

Humphrey wasnt even in the top 25 a month ago. Now he's a top 10 bolter.
Sounds like Humphrey has only just started playing again because of injury so its pretty impressive he's so highly rated already

If Cadman really were our target, then I'd at least hope we'd try and orchestrate some sort of slide down the ladder for an extra first.

I haven't lost hope in Warlord yet though, just gotta back ourselves to get him right, ala Judd.
Judd had shoulder injuries. Very different to hamstring injuries that often tend to be recurring.

I think he'll slide.

Naitanui is cooked. We need a #1 ruck not a backup.

We've truly been blessed with ruck stocks the last 10-15 years. Remember when we had Cox, Nic Nat AND Lycett all on the same list?...Those were the days, my friend.

Problematic hamstrings? Lock him in for our first pick if that is the case. Can’t wait for our S&C team to get to work on him…

I have no faith in this team to draft someone who immediately slides into the team and makes an impact. Have we even had one of those since Darling and Gaff?..Liam Ryan and Rioli I guess

I don’t think Hewett has done enough to convince me he’s a top 5 prospect, however if it gets to the stage where he’s still there after pick 13 or so, I’d definitely be interested to see if we can trade for him with both our 2nds plus future 2nd if that’s what it takes

Malthouse was very meh on Robertson this morning. Said something along the lines of ‘you don’t improve your list by recruiting fringe players from other clubs’

Footnote - which is what we’ve done with the likes of Witherden, Langdon, SPS and ???????.

I don't pay much attention to what Mick says these days. Talks a lot of absolute drivel. And there are countless examples of fringe players becoming good players elsewhere, particularly young ones. We've just done a very bad job of targeting the wrong ones of late (admitedly, most people could see that Langdon and SPS were not going to make much of an impact)
