but i agree andy is a great player and probly should of went abit better!!

THe above you quoted is all i was trying to get across. THe fact that it was 12 votes is a joke and say a bit for the umpires i reckon. I think you underrate andy's skills as well. Not trying to bag Tyso in any way as he must be doign something right hey! but just saying what i see. Yarra were pretty ordinary when tyso was there but i guess we'll never be able to get a proper handle on who's better as Colly is a long way from an O and M club unfortunately.[/quote]

Have the crows had their club B+F, did Tyson romp it in? Club B+Fs are a better indication of how well a player has done during the home and aways. Many blokes rate club B+Fs above League medals as it is voted by people that have an understanding of your role in the side and how well you perform that role. I believe umpires (as good as some are) are easily persuaded by public perception and follow name players such as Tyson a lot more closely.

In saying all that, well done to Tyson, a quality player who deserves all the accolades he gets.:thumbsu:

I notice that the Crows 2s have won 4 out of their last 5 games and have knocked off the top 2 teams in the past month or so. Does anyone think they can beat the Demons this week and if so will they be able to repeat the performances against the top 2 as the finals series progresses?

I personally think the crows have a better side all round, with a great midfield with a few good rotations, but the demons smashed them out of the middle on there last outing if the crows midfield gets on top (which they are very capable of) i cant see the demons putting up much of a fight against a very good forward line. but we will just wait and see, the crows may get the finals jitters. Also its great to see goldsack doing a superb job coming in to the side to fit the shoes of missing ruckmen duo jason habberman (jase is back this week maybe?) and paul haberecht.

Crows 2's way too good. How is Pat Beattie? Looked like he did his arm or shoulder. Still played well without him but Pat would get the crows 2's a long way towards a flag.

Coly just fell over the line against the tigers in the 1's but a win is a win. Tigers missed a lot of easy shots and would be disappointed. Tigers coach Robins looked too busy exchanging sledges with some hecklers and bi$ching at the umpies when he could/should have been kicking them to a win. Coly would want to play a lot better to go any further but they have beaten the crows and saints in the last month.....

Good effort by Rennie 3rds and 4ths. The 3rds in particular to be commended. They were pretty ordinary last year but have picked up some good kids and a good coach and is good to see some of those kids who copped some floggings last year enjoying a finals win. They will struggle against the demons or tiges but a good effort by them.

What's everyone else's thoughts?

I got two out of four last week.
Well done by Coleambally (1) and Rennie (3) for getting up and keeping their dreams alive - also to the Crows (2) and Rennie (4), who I tipped.

This week
Second semi finals at Jerilderie

Four of the six clubs will be represented, with only Coleambally and Rennie taking the week off in what could be the last CDFL match played at Jerilderie - lets hope not. Who will win?

Analysis: How many rivalries are rolled into this brand new one? Competing in this one match are the former clubs of Daysdale, Coreen, Oaklands, Urana and Hopefield-Buraja. Stretch that a bit further and you will find Hopefield and Cullivel from a bygone era. It's the way football has gone and the lack of players in the district are the reason these mergers happened, and the reason this is likely to be the last season of CDFL football. But onto the match, and what a match. Just 13 points have separated these two teams in three clashes this season and with both expected to be at full strength, another classic is on the cards. Huge amounts of pressure created inaccurate kicking in previous matches, while both teams showed they can dominate the other when they are on fire. The Crows will play in a final for the first time post merger in year three (it took the Saints five) and you can bet there will be plenty of support behind them. If there is anything to split them, it might just be the fact that the Saints have been here before.
Verdict: CDHBU by 10 points

Analysis: While the Saints haven't been far away from the Tigers at any stage, they haven't been able to get within striking distance to challenge for a win. Apart from the one slip up against the Crows, Wahgunyah hasn't put a foot wrong this season and always find another leg for their big rivals. CDHBU has the class and experience to challenge and maybe even score an upset, but it is impossible to pick against the Tigers without being biased. I wish I could be, but that's not me.

Analysis: As I said last week, Jerilderie and Wahgunyah have been daylight ahead of the rest since the turn of the century, with only a surprise loss for the Tigers in 2004 stopping them having joined the Demons in the past three grand finals. In fact, Jerilderie has been in every grand final since 2002 and are gunning for its fourth flag in a row. Impressive effort in the changing nature of junior football. The Tigers have been a class above the Demons so far this year, although the most recent clash indicated the Demons were closing the gap. At home, they have their best chance, but I can't go past an undefeated team.

Analysis: The Saints have taken all before them this year and haven't been seriously challenged at any stage. The Crows are the only other team with a positive win loss record and were virtually unchallenged by anyone but the Saints, who easily beat them three times. As the two clear best teams in the competition, this match is expected to be a formality before the grand final in a fortnight, but the Saints found out last year when they finished clear top only to lose twice to Rennie in the finals, that it is a different game - even at under 13 level. Nevertheless, they should win.

AWESOME looking weekend of footy this weekend with four very tight games to be played who do you think will be victorious this weekend and will it be the same team two weeks later???

CDHBU in the 1's
Tigers in the 2's (if a few of their blokes playing a bit of 1's played enough 2's games to qualify)
Tigers in the 3's
CDHBU in the 4's
(and of those teams I think that only the Tiger 3rds and CDHBU 4th are dead certs in the GF)

No such thing as a dead cert in a grand final HG. Saints (05 snrs and 06 4ths) should know that.

Time will tell here it is. Those 2 teams have been dominant - moreso than those saints teams of 05 & 06. Would be terrible for those teams if they didn't win it based on their efforts this year. I'll be barracking for other teams but their efforts have my respect.

can anyone tell me why the crows arent favourites for tomorrows game when they finnished on top of the ladder and have won 2 out 0f 3 against CDHBU.

I would have CDHBU as favourites for 2 reasons:
(1). CDHBU have some big game players coming into fitness at the right tome of year and have been there in the finals the last few years; &
(2). The crows copped a belting just a few weeks ago from coly so that puts a few doubts in my mind about them.

Just my opinion though and we'll know soon enough eh?

I'm not that concerned by the flogging the Crows got at Coleambally, that happens to a lot of very good teams often.
(1) is absolutely correct, the Saints are finals hardened and should know by now what is needed to win these matches, while Oaklands (03) and Urana (02) haven't had a taste for a while.
That can work in their favour because of enthusiasm and excitement about trying to do something special as the first team in Crows colours in this position, but it can work against them, especially if the Saints get a good start.

Expecting to hear about one hell of a big crowd considering there is the spirit of five heart-and-soul of the league clubs on the field today.

I hear CDHBU won well in the 1sts as did the Tigers in the 2nds so that's 2 out of 2 so far. Can anyone tell me who won the 3rds and 4ths?

Any excuses from the Crows re their loss in the 1sts yesterday? They'd want to be very worried about Coly next weekend. Would be tragic for that clubto go out in straight sets.

Tigers in the thirds easily as well as cdhbu easily in the fourth's

billabong started well came out firing but looked shot after half time and they should cerainly be worried about coly next week

Clarify that comment footy mad. Are you a crows supporter getting bit edgy because the wheels are falling off and I'm tipping they won't win the flag? Be careful - I know who you are.
