The fu**in idiots wont budge on 20th July for NSW, so we wont have a hub until clubs are returning to Victoria from Perth, so probably Rd 10 onward.

If Vic teams go and hub in Sydney and/or SE Qld for both Rds 6 and 7 (Sunday 19th), the government should allow Vic teams from there to fly in for Rds 8 and 9 to play both SA teams but that is no guarantee at this stage.

I wonder if Gladys will stop Vic teams hubbing it up in Sydney - out at Olympic Park and Wollongong as suggested the last 24 hours. If she says no that will really fu** thing ups and we definitely wont play at AO until Rd 10.
Like I said before, why can’t Vic teams play here on their way back from WA, as our borders are open to WA?

Nope there is 14 days quarantining in WA.

TBH honest, I reckon the reason for private security can only be corruption. It only makes sense to use police or ADF. But that whole state reaks of corruption, from the Andrews mob to the AFL

It’s literally privatisation.

People are understandably ignoring health advice and refusing tests - there's no visible danger as symptoms are mainly mild to non-existent and who would want to risk a positive result and be a prisoner in their own homes? If bodies start piling up then yes there'll be a change in attitude but the combination of the recent protests, lock-down exhaustion and lack of a body count means we'll likely see more and more people flouting of the rules.

An unfortunate side effect of being so successful.

Over 300,000 people are in lockdown in Vic hot-spots. A proportion of that population will do the wrong thing. Warnings of fines etc won't be enough to deter some.

Even if it's a small proportion that still leaves enough people that could cause the outbreak to get worse in Vic, and even cause outbreaks in NSW.

We already seeing examples. There was a report this morning that thousands of Victorians are driving to the NSW along the Hume highway. You'd think some would be from the hotspots.

Vic now inspecting online address changes on their drivers licensing system that were previously just accepted without vetting. Yes really, in 2020. Your primary ID. Because folks wanting to evad... sorry people who don't give a crap about anyone but themselves, were changing license details to avoid the lockdown. Yeah, but that behaviour is "understandable" even to some posters on here because there isn't a pile of bodies outside their doors. Infect one of your own and it's damn close to manslaughter in some degree IM (non-legal) O. And if it isn't legally, it should be, and certainly is ethically.

FFS.

So How does this happen...

Two men, who both spent two weeks in hotel quarantine in Melbourne, have tested positive for coronavirus after returning home to New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

About 50 staff at Woolworths in Balmain are in isolation after a man who works in the self-checkout returned a positive COVID-19 test.
The man flew into Melbourne from Bangladesh on June 11th and developed symptoms while in hotel quarantine.
He then flew into Sydney after being cleared of the virus and worked two shifts at Woolworths' Balmain store.

So how does someone show symptoms while in quarantine get cleared then test positive when they move out of Victoria? I thought the Madam X situation was a one off but apparently not. Two more negative tests in Victorian quarantine that turn out positive in another State or Territory. There is something really suspicious about Victorian hotel quarantine atm.

I wonder if they are not doing the tests correctly perhaps?

What an apology for dumb selfish behaviours.

So realistically with Marshall digging his heels in, the earliest we could have a game at Adelaide Oval will be round 8, given that all the borders with SA except for Victoria should open on July 20 which is the day after the conclusion of round 7.

At the same time I'm completely expecting the AFL to screw us on the back end of the season and limit us to as few games at Adelaide Oval as possible.

Gonna have to be road warriors if we are to get anywhere this year lads..

If I searched your posting history would I find a similar objection to the BLM protests? It's basically the same thing but far worse ethically because it was the first mass gathering of people since the lock-downs started. Protesting during a ****ing pandemic is arguably the more selfish and irresponsible act. It really doesn't matter whether there was any physical community transmission at the protests, it caused a shift in perceptions and that genie isn't going back in the bottle. I understand why the protests happened, I support the cause, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it. Same with these Melbournites flouting rules, I understand why it's happening but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it.

Security contractor sends COVID-19 scare through the AFL after positive test

Wow. The AFL almost pulled the plug on the St Kilda/Carlton game after a Marvel Stadium security contractor tested positive.

The Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph told Fox Footy the AFL came close to calling the match off this week, while veteran footy commentator Caroline Wilson told 3AW Radio Marvel Stadium was only cleared to host the game late on Thursday

Why would you block Victorian teams from an SA hub if they are coming in via hubs in QLD & WA.. madness

This whole COVID situation has now become a political dick measuring contest.

You won't because the same pearl clutchers were all for the protests. The virus is political don't you know, it only infects the people you don't agree with. Same people who moved the goal posts from protect the hospitals to now having a melt because the virus is still going in Vic. Whatever happened to the shutdown to protect the health system? Now we have governments in this position about a virus that's never going away, at some point you gotta accept that and instead be sensible about, especially when we know it's a mild strain. If you're not over 70 and and if you are in good health you're looking alright, the exceptions have been serious cases in the 70+ group which I'd argue would be the norm for most virus/infections?

Look, all jokes aside I'm honestly cautious of returning for a chunk of games at AO. I know it isn't good for the club but I still fancy our chances winning more playing away at other ovals.
