When we go into lockdown, I hope they do it properly. No half measures. Half measures result in a resurgence.
So far it's half measures. Stop travel from this country, oh now add this country where the shit has hit the fan and people have already brought it here. Stop all gatherings and close schools and universities? Nah we'll wait until there's more cases spread through them first! This is a rare case where politicians overreacting is much preferable to them doing less and not ****ing stuff up.

Yep. Healthy French citizens aren't welcome, but infected English are.

Was that story of the Chinese welding apartment block doors shut true? It does seem that infection and death rates in China are starting to fall.

I was expecting Gil to send a survey out to the 18 clubs to let them decide what should be done.

He's still negotiating with Eddie about what concessions Collingwood get.

"All sporting events and large gatherings cancelled."

Wonder what the definition of 'large gatherings' will be.

Edit: more than 500 people

Apparently 156 people in Australia are confirmed to have it. I think it was half that 3 days ago.
It was 93 cases on the 9th. A lot of cases in March have been from people who have travelled overseas recently.

Incoming travel from Iran to Australia is banned starting Sunday. Appropriate level of travel advisory to Italy is being considered. But "it's not possible to further isolate Australia," said Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy, adding that the focus should be on detection and containment instead. [source]

Seems half hearted. A super spreader amongst 500 and there's dozen's more cases. Should be 100 tops and all of any size by governments at any level.

Game 2 of the NBL grand final series in Perth tonight. Probably won't get a record crowd, but still 10k+ likely...

I can't believe this is still going ahead.... The Perth Wildcats were on a flight on the 9th March from SYD - PER with a confirmed case of Covid-19. I know that for a fact because we got the same alert they would have as one of our staff members was also on the same flight. They were also in close proximity of the case.

Did they give a timeframe?

Not that I can tell.

I've spent my entire morning on the phone re-scheduling events and international speaker travel arrangements.

One good thing about all this is that Qantas are providing full refunds on any cancellations with no questions.

The sort of thing that brings you back to the airline later.

100 is our threshold. We run events around the country and anything over 100 people we are cancelling/rescheduling.
