To the best of my knowledge, Trump doesn't have the legal power to end a state lock down.
Could get ugly to be honest. Would essentially be a Head of State endorsing civil unrest.Even if he doesn't have the legal authority, if he starts telling people it's safe to go out and picks public fights with Dem/"RINO" governors, his supporters, cheered on by Fox News, will start to go out anyway and any shutdown order quickly becomes unenforceable.
Trump said today they will gradually start easing restrictions from the end of this month, insaneTo think Australia is still a few weeks away from possibly lifting some restrictions, even when most states are into single-digit daily caseloads...
Even if the % growth has tapered off across America, they're still in the hundreds of daily cases across all but the smallest states. Going to take months before they can safely ease off - and their crazies are starting crack after a few weeks.
Exactly, legally he's impotent when it comes to ending a state lockdown.Even if he doesn't have the legal authority, if he starts telling people it's safe to go out and picks public fights with Dem/"RINO" governors, his supporters, cheered on by Fox News, will start to go out anyway and any shutdown order quickly becomes unenforceable.

With Trump pushing hard for a gradual reopening in a couple of weeks it is a near certainty that a second wave will hit. I guess he's going to pick the economy over lives. I challenge any Trump fans to dispute me on that one.
Insanity.

Soon = 2021GET EXCITED footy coming back soon!!!!!!!
I was sceptical at first but I do think they'll squeeze in a shortened season if our numbers keep going the way they are. No chance of crowds though, I imagine mass gatherings restrictions won't be lifted before the end of this year.Soon = 2021
If that’s the case it will be boring as, no crowds no AFL. Hopefully local footy will be back so we can play.I was sceptical at first but I do think they'll squeeze in a shortened season if our numbers keep going the way they are. South Korea sees rise in second-time virus diagnoses
South Korea says it's continuing to see a rise in patients who test positive for the coronavirus for a second time after being diagnosed as recovered.
As it happened: Australia's death toll grows; United Kingdom extends lockdown as the global death toll passes 140,000
If you suspect you or a family member has coronavirus you should call (not visit) your GP or ring the national Coronavirus Health Information Hotline on 1800 020 080.www.theage.com.au
There goes the herd immunity theory ???
She says the patients on average were 13.5 days removed from their release when they tested positive again, although the longest gap was 35 days.I've heard mention of this before being a limitation of the testing, not being able to differentiate between active or inactive virus or components thereof from memory.
So the power you were talking about was the power to cause a constitutional shitstorm?Great minds think alike.
Legally, in theory, the President is quite limited in his powers in the US. He is checked and scrutinised by Congress and SCOTUS and they have the power to override almost everything the President can do. Great.
But in practice his authority and reach is wide ranging - like Canberra, Washington just has to start swinging the money around and the less powerful states fall into line. If Trump was to say start withholding the national stockpile of ventilators from California unless they loosen restrictions do you think it means he's 'impotent'? Because the Congress (via the Senate) and SCOTUS won't be interfering.

Doesn't mean you can't get immunity. Some people don't develop immunity. Also doesn't mean they can't fight it off better this time.South Korea sees rise in second-time virus diagnoses

An expert on the ABC was saying it could possibly be false negatives resulting in people being cleared who still have the virus. Then they stop the bedrest and the symptoms flare up again.Doesn't mean you can't get immunity. Some people don't develop immunity. Also doesn't mean they can't fight it off better this time.
But early to know exactly

Trump's executive orders are a shitbreeze compared to usurping states' rights.Optus Stadium will play booing noises at appropriate times, such as when an opposition player has a set shot for goal or Matthew Kreuzer touches the ball.
Let's be honest, here - whether pro or anti-Trump, the current US President has skirted the line on 'constitutional shitstorms' throughout his term so far.
Depends how many negative tests they do before release but yeah it's always an optionAn expert on the ABC was saying it could possibly be false negatives resulting in people being cleared who still have the virus. Then they stop the bedrest and the symptoms flare up again.
Footy with no crowds is just a bit shit and may actually cause more people to drift away from the game. They know this, which is why they are considering ridiculous ideas like piped in crowd noises. It might be in their interests to wait until crowds can return in some form.agree no chance of crowds, but footy and nrl will be back end of may, it's a phase in the step back to normality
