Thanks Chopper. The lack of staff reason isn’t a factor as that’s more about cost as labour will be easy to find over the next little while as the tourism, dining and entertainment industries close. To offset the extra cost in labour simply put up prices to cover (shouldn’t be much on a % basis).
Agree that it couldn’t be 24/7 because of effective cleaning. So make it 22/7 and do shelf stacking then too.
With regards to noise around docks councils and governments are going to have to enact some exemptions I feel. People need to realise we are in extraordinary times so rules and ways of doing things need adjusting by regulators. Do you think what they are doing in hospitals in China and Italy meet standards and regulations?
I raise the 24/7 supermarket trading because in other countries they trade 24/7 and they are not having the same issues as the countries without 24/7. However, I do acknowledge your the expert in this field and I’m just a layman.

But he’s still a duck head
Bit like Americans buying guns to shoot away the virus.
Yeah, been thinking about this as well.I'm actually more worried about the long term affects on the global/Australian economy and the broader impact on our society than the chances of me or loved ones getting seriously ill or death, if there is a prolonged shutdown of thousands of businesses it could have massive long term consequences.
When I visited my mum and her sister yesterday I told them I shouldn't give them their customary greeting hug and peck on the cheek.... mum said don't be silly Jason, if I can't give my son a cuddle life's not worth living... and she also wants to see her grand children and great grand children.
OMG!Flew back to Melbs today. Yeah, looks like I'll be a vegetarian for a few days by the look of my local shops meat section lol.
Fun part of my day today, a lady two rows in front of me on the SkyBus calling her doctor to get her corona virus test results.
I kid you not.
briztoon this is why we can't stop the virus in this country. People like that. Luckily the result came back negative.

For those following the potential drug treatment clinical trials: see blog post Coronavirus: Some Clinical Trial Data.
Summary: the hydroxychloroquine – azithromycin (an antibiotic with other properties) combination looks the most promising to reduce viral load but better designed clinical trials are required. These are happening all of the world (including Australia as I previously posted)
Didn't you know that Crown fulfils the criteria for an essential service exemption.WTF is Crown Casino open?

There’s one in Spain locked down with customers still in it, after one of the workers tested positive. Are the brothels still open?
Seeing what is happening in Italy has taken me back several times to a random conversation I had with an Italian lady at the shops about 6-7mths ago....We were both seated side by side and got talking..
...the talk got to her worry about her parents in Italy who were elderly and how she wished they would come out here as the health and aged care system were next to non existent there.....said our health system and the retirement/aged care facilities here were first class.
Went on to say because it was their culture for families to look after their old people, nothing much had been done in either sector.
I've wondered a few times if this could be why they are having such a terrible death rate over there now and the lack of a really decent health system..
