was thinking 8 game home membership, all "Marquee" or gate shared events by ticket sales only just like the finals, with members getting first access.
Could work if reserved seat members got free reserved seats, but they had to be "bought" online, GA members could scan in or pay to upgrade like normal.

Potential of games held at traditional venues to spread the load perhaps?

Princes Park / Waverley Park?

Not really to spread the load from a playing perspective

But more likely to be far less overheads than getting Etihad or the MCG running and staffed (even at the basic level) for a day.

Most of these games would obviously have to be day games, however, I reckon the adjusted fixture will be mostly night games, to maximise revenue for the TV companies. So that would be it's main issue.

The NSW Public Heath Act gives very wide powers, no doubt the WA version does as well.

(3) Without limiting subsection (2), an order may declare any part of the State to be a public health risk area and, in that event, may contain such directions as the Minister considers necessary—

I very much doubt the High Court would be willing to overturn such a order even if it in effect bans all travel to a state, if it was done to limit a real public health risk.

NZ didn't ban travel/movement, but the effect is the same

Science doesnt report the news. A woman, a tour guide in Osaka tested positive, negative and cleared then positive again. The hospital she was even reported it and the Japanese authorities reported it. If you need some scientific study then go ahead and wait. It's not fear mongering. Calm down, sunshine.

People can catch the flu twice, so makes sense they can catch this twice. You're as bad as the rest of them with your intense over reaction.

Sure, it may be wrong that she just had a false negative. But to pass on that info isnt fear mongering. Lol.

"Flu" is a group of different viruses, and the immune system reacts differently to each different strain. There's hundreds of different viruses that get called a "cold".

Humans do get sick from the exact same virus (e.g. chicken pox and shingles years later), but these are usually cases of the same virus staying dormant before re-emerging. I'd say being re-infected by the exact same virus within a short time period is exceedingly rare. The human immune system is pretty amazing.

Chances are that this was a false test result, and this tour guide did not get cured of Covid-19 then re-infected again. But who knows? Crazy times.

Not true. Geelong 9 games at Kardnia Park and us none at Princes Park would be major difference in circumstances of they get 9 games on ground they train on, we get none.
With no crowds, a ground you train on is as good as home ground advantage you going to get in this weird season, so given that, make it as fair as possible.
Of course it all depends if some contract still says you play same grounds as before even without crowds. Think it is more practical to play where it makes it easiest and fairest in circumstances. Probably where the media feel most comfortable setting up broadcast in circumstances will get the main say.

Premier club for seasons 1871, 1873, 1874, 1875, 1877, 1887, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1914, 1915, 1938, 1945, 1947, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1979, 1981, 1982
I'd imagine it would still be played at contracted stadiums.

Or worst case, your membership costs less and you effectively only pay for the 8 games.
Then when buying tickets, reserved seat members get first access before GA members etc...
Games at the G wouldn't be a problem with co tennants I imagine, but I think of Adelaide Oval, not sure there are enough actual seats for both sets of members to use your model, where something similar to the finals model (granted with a bit of tweaking) would cover every scenario

So if media actually make more money than they thought they would, does the TV money go up again? I note they already had an extra ratings boost with the bushfire game. A bit greedy I reckon. more people will be consuming TV not less, $$$ from adverising things people cant actually buy.

Im thinking in victoria the deafult will be Marvel with some MCG games chucked in. Wouldn't be surprised if they do this to make the MCG revisit their "oh but the cricket' stance

Hope they still have the Saturday afternoon footy though

Given no crowds at grounds, it should be in these circumstances. Same with any grounds clubs train at week in, week out in this period.

Crowds will eventually return to the footy this year. So couldn’t schedule 8-9 games at ikon. Maybe a few at the beginning of the season.

I don't know why the AFL are continuing with the charade, the season is a bust and any fool can see it.
You can just about bet the next nonsense idea will be just the Vic teams playing each other.

It won't happen due to the additional costs involved with broadcasting infrastructure, public liability insurance, security. Everything is already set up at Marvel Stadium which the AFL owns.

He'd be my go-to for who gets the CV19 first (mild of course, Bud, no hard feelings)
Wonder if Sportsbet have markets for the first player contracted yet

With most sports canceled they would be looking for anything to keep the money coming in

People are talking about televising unattended games from Princes Park, Fremantle oval etc.

This brings about the possibility that only one side will have decent quality facilities and the visitors will be in very poor rooms. Lots of these grounds were used when change rooms were just basic, well, change rooms. As time went on, one set of rooms was upgraded to support a club as a training base but the visitors' rooms were left in 1970's limbo.

A fair rule would be that if you want to take your home game to your "traditional" ground, you must allow the visitors to have the better rooms. If you are not prepared to use the crappy rooms yourself, then you shouldn't be allowed to ask the visitors to. If you are prepared to use the old visitors' rooms yourself, then great, kick on.

At some of these grounds, the visiting sheds are very rudimentary indeed.
In the case of princes park this won’t be an issue, their are two sets both upgraded within the last 5 years for a total of 4

I know its just madness. the night the power went off at waverly went off should be a clue. these are training venues now

Royal easter show is off so showgrounds might be the NSW footy studio. gold coast too No cricket

Eddie just had a good idea - send two victorian clubs over toe WA, he used Pies and Saints as an example: game 1& 2 Pies play WCE and Saints play Freo, games 3 &4 WCE play saints and Freo play pies and WCE & Freo play game 5 - 5 games all in perth, do a smiliar thing in Adelaide, Sydney & brisbane. Good share of the load and not as much travel and cost as back and forth etc.
