It'll be tricky to see how they divide up the travel for Victorian sides. Will they all play 4 games interstate? Would that entail two blocks of two games in two states?

So teams play both WA teams and both SA teams while others might play both NSW teams and both Qld teams.

North, Dees, Saints all play both NSW, WA, SA and QLD teams away.

Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon all play 17 MGC games.

  • As of Tuesday 12pm, there were 428 cases of COVID-19 in Australia. Of those, 210 are in NSW, 94 are in Victoria and 78 are in Queensland
ABC reported about an hour ago we’re up to 450 confirmed cases

Forget it.

Light_Soda is a denialist.

He told me yesterday that NSW' 28% increase yesterday was an outlier and it's was just as likely going to be 5% today.

Well it's 22% by midday.

NSW is growing at the same rate as Italy at the same stage...

John Worsfold saying that games will almost certainly be shorter, with proposed 16 minute qtrs and 4 minutes time on
Wow really? So the AFL using this as a get out of jail free card to trial all their stuff no one wanted.

Compromised cause we have a fair draw for once?

lol sure, if that's the only factor you want to take into consideration outside of a COVID list top-up draft, potentially shorter games, a floating fixture outside of round 4, teams having to split players up to meet health standards, games being played with no crowds

The list goes on and on and on.

The competition is a complete write off this year. No results carry any weight at all.

I do want to stress that when you present your data (and ideally, sources) - you must make sure there is a distinction between confirmed cases (before deaths and recovered are recorded) and active cases (after deaths, recovered and serious conditions recorded).

Will 4 mins really make a difference anyway?

This is a unique situation. Be happy with any footy

Denialist?

You are saying I said something to you in regards to NSW, and I never said any such thing at all. Whatsoever. You are putting words in my mouth.

Second of all, there must be a distinction between active cases, and overall confirmed cases. And then there must be data indicating the serious/critical cases within that. Of course overall cases are going to heighten overtime - no one said this wouldn't happen - my point was the split between those that continue to be mild and those that are critical.

You are the one JUMPING to using misinformation and hyperbole which does nothing but solidify you as a reactionist with no basis of rational thought and composure.

Meanwhile the toilet roll brigade are rolling up in buses in small country towns, and stripping the shelves of the only supermarket there.
If it was America there would be plenty of dead by now and it wouldn't be from the virus.
As someone who spends a lot of time in regional WA, it’s not worth the trip. I’ve needed toilet paper for a while so have been looking (got a heal from a public restroom in mount barker to get me through, sorry everyone)

Two weeks ago
Geraldton - nothing
Narrogin (1 supermarket in town) - nothing
Kattaning (1 super market in town) - nothing
Mount Barker (1 super market in town) - nothing
Albany - nothing
(Got toilet paper from public restroom)

last week
Dunsborough nothing
Busselton - nothing
Bunbury - nothing

this week
Margaret River (I type this from the Wollies carpark) - nothing
Got a few more to try.

So I saw that report too, made me laugh, the toilet paper issue in regional WA started long before any bus tour

There's a mountain of data around the world as a model of exactly how this about to play out, given we aren't currently under complete lock out, are still allowing social interactions, schools are still open etc.

Most people are taking the "Australia is awesome" line and running the line of very few critical cases as some sort of badge of honor, you can see it in here.

All western Countries have seen a massive increase in the hospitalisation and mortality rate once hitting a certain point.

Like Spain and Italy are currently experiencing.

NSW will have 20,000+ cases in a fortnight, regardless of what measures the govt bring in now (they are too late).

Most ventilators in hospitals will be exhausted within a month and watch the mortality and critical lists skyrocket, like they are doing in every western developed country in Europe.

Unless you think Australia's health system outstrips every other developed nation in the world and somehow stems the tide of an incurable respiratory disease, despite that disease spreading at rates consistent with the rest of the world.

Yes, for as long as no crowds and it is a schedule day game, Princes Park makes more sense for our own home games than Docklands for example.

In the end, I think the broadcasters will probably say, we can set up our stuff easier at the grounds we use already so it probably won't happen in way I like anyway.

Yes that's a great way for the world to secure it's future. Wow, glad you have no input on anything important here.

Of course planning and preparation is important, but do tell me, what preparation have you put in place to beat this pandemic? Play your role, fall into line, let others worry about how to beat this virus. Not much we can do.
