Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

We all know West Coast will flog Geelong on Saturday D)... but it seems few have given the Hawks much of a chance against the Pies on Friday night.

Collingwood have announced they are wary of Lance Franklin as their biggest hurdle towards consecutive grand final appearances - shut down buddy and another GF berth is effectively theirs.

Buddy is a match-winner, everybody knows that. Could he have a day out and help his team upset the flag favourites? And if not, who will do the job on him for Collingwood?

But he missed training today, was seen at Vimy House & couldn't attend the awards tonight owing to his injury. He'll play with painkillers but he won't be at his best physically. That said, he is a gun & I doubt MM will be underrating him.

If you concentrate too much on one player, others get under your guard. I'd think Collingwood's planning will revolve around this thinking.

Probably the only key forward to average more goals per game in finals than in the H&A year over the last 5 years. Is now averaging 4 goals per game in finals since 2007, with two big bags of 7 goals and 8 goals in finals. Was born to play big games.

Lonergan was on him and the tactic worked during the H&A too

Hawthorn have to find goals elsewhere because as we saw against Geelong, Buddy might kick a bag but if the team only kicks 8-12 they won't win

During the mid season Collingwood looked unstoppable. But the last two games they look a bit wobbly (90 point loss to the Cats and having a narrow win againt West Coast at the MCG).

While it's had to seperate Collingwood and Geelong when they are playing at their best, Collingwood hasn't played to their best for a while now. If Collingwood can find their form again it should be a convincing win against the Hawks, but if they can't then anything can happen.

Leon barely gets a tough, Buddy kicks 4 and you just about would've backed him in to get another one in the Geelong game, he then kicks 4 against swans while getting around the ground 17 touches and 7 tackles. and yeah you're right, McKenzie and Glass who owned Cloke and Dawes last week, yeah Buddy kicked 6 on them. He also dominated Saints and Swans who are decent teams.

We also didn't have Hale in somewhat decent contesting marking form. Last time Buddy had Tarrant right on his hip, O'Brien close by and Davis hovering. This time now that our rucks are a lot better he might actually be able to get freed up a bit.
