I am another disgruntled fan who is seething at the delisting of Jeremy Clayton. But, he has done the pre-season and surely he wouldn't just be shafted to North Ballarat (most likely) without an adequate reason. It seems Picioane will be given a chance with his THIRD club (anyone given the flick by 2 must have some issues) and I am curious at what constitutes being eligible to be drafted onto the rookie list.

Would Jezza be eligible? Lets hope.....surely his talents have been recognised and if they thought that he was of no value to the club pre-draft, he would have been given the Tijuana brass then.

Nah he cant be. The rookie draft is for players Under 23. Jez turned 23 in February this year.

I thought Clayton was going to be a star but he showed very little from limited opportunities. The club doesn't rate him as much more than an excellent seconds player.
I can't understand all the hysteria about his delisting. His off field attitude has been well chronicled on Bigfooty and he wasn't part of the bigger plans at the Kangas.
Fling him and get someone who offers more potential.
On the other hand Picioane doesn't excite me at all - shown very little at the hawks and nothing to show he has untapped potential. Hope the judges at Kangaroo land know something that we don't as I can't see it.

Jeremy's talents have been recognised. He is a very good player at the level JUST below AFL. He will be 24 at the start of next season, and will not make the difference between the Roos being successful or not this year. (BTW, I doubt very much that Piciaone will make that difference either.) I have read comparisons between JC and Peter Bell since his delisting. Reality check please. JC is the sort of player we all admire: he is tough, courageous and gets everything out of himself. But I doubt that he is good enough to be a consistent AFL player.
I think many of us have been disappointed that a player of his stature and on field attitude has been let go, but I think the claims about his ability and impact on the playing field have been way overstated.

I was talking to a mate of Jez's yesterday. He said he's pretty ********ed with JYD who told him before the draft that he was definately a required player in 2005. He told Jez that now that they'd recruited similar players in the draft he wanted to give them a go and there was nolonger a place for him on the North list. So I don't think it's likely we would redraft him.

Good luck Jez....
