Could Port win the flag?

So after 5 rounds the new club shine starts to wear off.

Watts - showed some early signs but still a terrible decision maker with no awareness. A real liability
Rockliff - has never looked worse. did port even run a medical on him?
Motlop - getting found out. puts in questionable effort
Mackenzie - I haven't noticed him
Thomas - might not play another AFL game

Edit forgot one
Trengrove - see mackenzie

You forgot Trengrove.

Port Adelaide have improved significantly since the 2007 GF, so are every chance of winning the premiership this year!

In 2007 they scored 44 points against the Cats. Today they scored 50.

Well done Port!

Classy bunch of fans too, booing off a concussed player and booring through the presentation of the ANZAC medal presentation being presented by the relative of a Veteran! What a great club!!

Most of those they didn’t lose much to get them. But
Watts struggled at Melbourne
Motlop could barely string one good game a year
Mackenzie take away his kick not much of a player
Thomas was done 2 years ago
Trengove busted foot

I'm not wanting to troll here. What on Earth is going on with Wingard? His first & second year were incredible. I was thinking Alan didak on steroids. AA at 19. Now he is rubbish? How badly injured is he?

He plays in Port Adelaide's forward line and the love child of Wayne Carey and Buddy Franklin wouldn't be effective in Port Adelaide's forward line.

If you view my predictions on IML they (Port) were the ones I was willing to bet against being 'great'. They may end up being 'good' aka 'finish top 8', but IMO there's no way they win the flag. Their best chance has passed, and I worry for Port supporters that they think that Hinkley is the problem and they have a great list. They don't, their defence is ridiculously young and I just don't see that defence being a premiership defence. And just before any port or other supporters deflects from what I'm saying, Melbourne are pathetic, a team that isn't consistent and you can't trust. After 12 years still out of the eight. Bloody disgusting! I know where we are, do Port supporters? #Hinkleyisnottheissue

You honestly believe that. One thing is they don’t have depth. They have a couple of players out (Ryder and Rockliff) - what would happen if they had say 10!

Not many sides have a good back up ruck. Perhaps only West Coast, maybe St Kilda (it's not great but it's still depth with Hickey replacing Longer) have any depth in the ruck position. I don't think Rockliff being out hurt them...

You can't excuse tonight on two injuries, the last three years they've been poor. And in the last year they've been poor against anyone of quality (with Ryder). If Port want to be any better than a top 8 team they need to win despite having Ryder out against a Geelong team without many (Ablett, Henderson, Taylor etc...

Hickey is actually far better than Longer. Not sure why the latter is considered the Saints #1 when both fit.

Well, Wingard swapped roles with Robbie Gray last year, spending more time in the middle, with the obvious view to being a full-time mid in future.

For some reason they've backpeddled this year though, and swapped them back, and now Wingard looks lost.
