maybe we could have built hospitals and invested more in health the last 2 years as well
Tassie could have if they hadn't spent the money supporting Hawthorn........... that's right Hawthorn stifled your states COVID response. Let the hate flow. ;)

ive had both mine now, day 1 i had someone follow me to the car (she was at the gym in the same building) telling me ive let the country down and part of an experiment, get home and flush it out with OJ

Should've thrown a pack of condoms at her and told her to use them at all times.

… and the sheep, while imagining their place in Australian folklore alongside Eureka, Galipoli and Tobruk

Aside from the obvious repugnance… the irony that our soldiers, in defending our land with many making the ultimate sacrifice, all received mandatory vaccinations for typhoid and malaria

Ireland has 90% vaxx rates and still high high infection and death rates.

Sure, go the Lord of the Flies route.

We cant lock young people up anymore. This alone is creating future problems for another percentage of them. These kids/young adults are missing out on plenty. Now if our state leaders, who have been in power for years, have failed to maintain the health system & hospitals & failed to deliver on promises of extra ICU beds, promised 18 months ago, then it's on them & any of us that elect them. Not the young. If any of us are still scared at 70 or even 80% double vaccination rates then time for us stay home as we've had more of an opportunity to live life.
Time for our young to get their lives back.
Hell, the amount of younger people that went out to get vaccinated, many with AZ when not popular, is amazing. We owe it to them now to open up & get life back on track, though very different.

End of story

Got first jab today, quite relieved about it actually. I was a bit nervous before this shot when I'm not normally, maybe the anti-vaxxer stuff got to me a bit even though I never believed it... fear is a powerful persuader and I can understand how my relatives got sucked in based on the links they were sending me. I think we might be able to get to 90% vaccinated, at least here in Canberra, without even having to make it mandatory, which would improve things considerably, though we are not out of the woods yet as this will put a strain on our hospitals...
Give it about 2 weeks after your second jab RW & your Wifi will never cut out again.;)

Ireland has 73% fully vaccinated. Only countries like Malta, Portugal are in the 90% range.
The death rate in Ireland is far less now than what it was at the beginning of the year when vaccination rates were low.
Most countries that open up experience a jump in cases but the death rate is much lower in the vaccinated.
The death rate is higher in the un-vaccinated.

Opening up is more Darwin's theory of evolution.

Agree, but as much as the roadmap is cautious, I think it is one that at least takes into consideration giving time for the 21-40 year olds to get their second AZ jab prior to the lifting of significant restrictions. As discussed earlier, I got the AZ 4 days after I became officially eligible. Keeping to the best health advise, my second jab is on November 4th ( a day before the proposed full time return to school for my kids). Any earlier and I would absolutely cautious about returning to an environment where kids are constantly sent in while sick. I've done the right thing but even then, I'm going to be potentially vulnerable for about 2 weeks, through no fault of my own.The vax roll out has been a complete **** up and I get the feeling heads will roll because of it.

I just watched a fascinating video from Dr John Campbell a UK professor. He is quoting study evidence that proves that the adverse side effects for Pfizer (pericarditis) and AZ (blood clotting) are caused by nurses failing to aspirate to ensure the injection isn't in a blood vessel and therefore occasionally inject the vaccine IV. In a blood vessel and going straight to heart

Ah wow. So for simpleton like me, does this basically mean nurses/doctors are administering it incorrectly which is causing side effects?

I know there have been debates over the benefits of aspiration for the various types of injection (subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous). Research is said to be limited in the area. I do wonder however, if the pre-loading of the injections have something to do with it. I notice the amount of times on the news you see the nurse drawing the injection from the bottle before injecting. Everyone that I have spoken to have received an injection from a syringe that has been drawn earlier and placed in the fridge ready for injection within a certain time frame.

I saw someone I know 'like' a social media post that described Craig Kelly as a "modern day Australian hero". :drunk:

I think I might need to choose better company...

yep regardless of what you think of vaccines her suggestion to OJ it out tickled me

maybe oj can cure covid?

i made the mistake of walking out with the info they give you, she was trying to argue they dont tell us about it, but all the docs showee otherwise

I know there is a trial going on (or already completed) here apparently.

Hydroxochloroquine was around 23% effective treating covid
Invertimin (sp?) was around 21% effective
OJ was around 22% effective.

So in theory if you combine the 3 into a cocktail , you'll get somethjing that's less effective than the current vaccine, and far more dangerous.

The vaccine is cheaper than orange juice too...
