In case we do all get covid at some point - interesting study on using mouthwash to help kill off the virus in your throat.
Sounds like it's time to stockpile Listerine next to the toilet paper.

In my expert medical opinion, whiskey is equally effective

I think the makers of Listerine did offer up a statement confirming that there was no evidence-based research in favor of mouthwashes as a COVID control or prevention tool.

The current recommendation to inhibit the surface Covid virus (not at the throat protected by human fluid) is to use at least 60% alcohol. Alkaline is also regarded as the most effective one to "kill" the virus(mainly because the virus is ammino acid type of protein).
When it is mixed with our body fluid at the throat, I personally believe flushing the virus into the stomach using warm/hot water is probably more effective (again, I am not a medical professional so i might be wrong)

Edit: Most mouthwash are designed to kill bacteria which is different from virues. Salt water kill baterica through osmosis and not sure if it has any effect on coronavirus.

What about hydrogen peroxide? My dad used to swear that gargling hydrogen peroxide helped stop his sore throats

If you have tried putting H2O2 on your surface wound, you know how painful it is. The native oxygen produced can kill germ but at the same time burn the other part of your body. I dont think it is a good idea.

If the exercise is to minimise the amount of coronavirus in your throat (part of the upper airway), then I believe drink warn/hot water regularly is the safe way to go (say every 15 minutes with 4 oz of water. Dont drink too much as your body can handle a certain amount of water per hour). We need to hydrate ourselves if we have flu like symtoms anyway.

Edit: Note: if the alcohol, H2O2, Zinc or whatever we use hoping to kill the virus can reach the virus for killing purpose, then the warn/hot water can flush them to the stomach anway. (except at the nose region)

He does that too, can't say I've ever tried either.
Although in the past if I started to get a sore throat I used to drink the black doctor (coke) and it seemed to help.

I'm sure he looked fabulous as a blonde too

(While i am not medical professional) Sore throat can be caused by viral infection as well as baterica infection and they have to be handled with different method.
(If i am not wrong, "soar throat" is a common symtom for the new variant while it is not for Delta).

Are you trying to say that coke won't defeat omicron?

Apart from a dead arm I've had sleepiness and low-level aches in my neck and shoulders today, the sort that makes it uncomfortable to sit at a laptop, or watch TV. It got to the point where I was considering abstaining from any beers tonight.

I eventually pushed through and have had a couple stubbies so far and I gotta say, I feel a million bucks. New hypothesis Goddy. Forget the DQP, two Crown lagers (don't judge) will have you feeling sweet.

What is the time between your 2nd and 3rd dose?

Did you get it today?
I thought I was alright (besides a sore arm) until I went to bed, then it hit me

And I'm 100% judging you for the crownies, I'd rather have a fever

I dont understand why the booster shot is not based on a measurement of our antibody level but instead a 4 months, 5 months or 6 months period. (i am not sure if these period were established by looking at the average efficacy-time curve which are derived from infection/hosptialisation rate)
I was told the antibody level varies quite a bit with different individuals.
