Possibly, personally I'd be happy having another booster if the science checks out. I'm not keen on getting any version of covid.Massive cash grab imo. Incredibly low hospitalisation/death rate so the only thing it will be targeting is spread which If previous iterations are anything to go by, vaccines aren't very good at stopping - at or below the protection that a recent case of COVID gives you and existing vaccines/boosters already offer protection against severe cases.
By the time it comes to market there will likely already be another less harmful variant that is dominant and community transmission will mean that the r0 value will have gone down already - which is the only part of Omicron that is actually worrisome.
If the science checks out, then #4 will be a good solid test of just how "First world problems" a person is.Possibly, personally I'd be happy having another booster if the science checks out. I'm not keen on getting any version of covid.
I know plenty of people have probably reached their booster limit at this one though.

Yeah, wow, look how those cases have spiked up with Omicron and look at those deaths. Boy the joke is really on them being vaccinated hey.

Sure thing mate and that's your prerogative, unfortunately I think you will get it eventually, but fortunately it shouldn't be that bad because it's getting milder by the day.
None of this is idealogical for me, I just think policy should make sense. And similarly a company like Pfizer who has been engaging in rampant profiteering during this pandemic shouldn't be taken at face value.

Wow Israel looks almost the same as south Africa who is less than 50% double vax no boosters .
Maybe its just that omicron is far more transmissible but much less deadly ?
Just because pharmaceutical companies have been making a killing during the pandemic (and Sorbent, and UberEats, and Netflix etc) does not mean COVID does not exist or that vaccines are not effective. Think of the global conspiracy that would be needed for Pfizer to produce a vaccine that is actually a dud but Pfizer insists it isn't and everyone believes it. Not sure I like your line of thinking in that last paragraph.
I see your point but I highly doubt the SA cases were that low and accurate but Israel would be highly accurate.Maybe you might want to read the numbers on the respective y-axes of those graphs before saying they look almost the same.
Don't say it is like the flu you will trigger so many people on this threadYes and companies have been price gouging and blaming it on inflation. These are not conspiracies, just profit incentives.
But my point was not that Pfizer will make a vaccine that does nothing. My point was that they will continue to push never ending boosters or a new vaccine that will not be necessary when it is launched.
When the initial spread has peaked, transmissibility goes down and everyone has had it, it will be an endemic disease with a similar hospitalisation and mortality rate as the flu (Omicron and even less for future weaker variants) and at that point we will not need to continue with boosters - but companies like Pfizer will undoubtedly continue to push them.
That's all I'm saying.

True. Bizarre night at a regional pub trying to watch a wet T-shirt contest as the missus starts crying because she’s opened FB and the two year wait to see her sister continues.Feel sorry for any Western Australian that has family In a different state that they haven’t seen for a few years.
So how was the Roey?True. Bizarre night at a regional pub trying to watch a wet T-shirt contest as the missus starts crying because she’s opened FB and the two year wait to see her sister continues.
Needless to say, I got a few accusatory glances at being ‘that guy’ (the contest was her idea too fwiw).

Not a bad crowd actually! So how was the Roey?
Missus cost me 750 bucks. At least that’s what I told her (she didn’t see the funny side…) - so much for empowerment!Did you at least win?
Sure and I do sympathise, but you have to weigh that up against the extra lives this will likely save and the fact that less people will have to go through the experience of seeing their relative dying.
It's a shitty situation and everyone has their own life to live but like it or not there is a very real cost to just opening to borders to all and sundry. It might not cost you directly but this decision has potentially prevented a lot of people from paying that price.
We came to Australia when I was 3 . My relatives couldn't even afford to come visit Couldnt even afford a phone call. I never saw my Grandparents again they died too poor to holiday other side of the world . I don't know my cousins . At least these days you have facetime. Do you feel sorry for me I don't. . I and my family dealt with it . Society today is way to entitled and you want thousands to die so your family can holiday .
Just tuned into this thread , so what does that mean for West Coast and Freo fans?
I know Glory and most likely Wildcats will be screwed going ahead having to play the majority of their fixtures on the East Coast now.
The Wildcats are the only one of the four I'd back to actually be able to still win it, but it might be a bridge too far even for them.
It's the least excited I've ever been for an AFL season.
I know we're all pretty annoyed but can we also take a minute to curse the panic buyers?
My local shop had all the dog roll bought out. I mean stuff anyone else who wants to feed their dog right?
And like are these people buying extra fridges just to store dog sausage?
