The images released this morning are spectacular, absolutely love it. The science nerd in me is rather excited.

I've been staggered by the JW images.

My forbears are embedded somewhere in me, the people who blooded some poor shaking creature for the sake of a benign turn of weather, and after that it was the people who could only believe that the sun revolved around God's earth.

Now we're looking at smudges on a picture which some excitable astro-type tells us is a cluster of galaxies, among a larger kaleidoscope of clusters, all of it reaching out from billions of years ago.

Here I am in my dressing gown peering towards the edge of universe and the beginning of time. Channelling Jim Morrison...immaculate.

I spent a week looking at images from deep into the Galaxies of far away. Then my mum come and got me out the bedroom that I was in for a week and said, you have to stop dropping acid, this isn't the 60's
