I remember my mate in the 70's quizzing his father's doctors about life expectancy after a triple bypass - 97% with that team. My father also had one done, but though the heart never missed a beat, the leg from which a vein was removed became the undoing of the rest of his life, constantly ulcerated and swollen from poor circulation.

He lived for walking, for leading groups of seniors from an A to B outside the comfort zone of their desires and often ability. Instead of walking the Yarra city path or the perimeter of Chadstone shopping centre, they'd clamber onto buses and climb Cathedral mountain or Mount Buggery.

He went into Box Hill hospital to have 4 ulcers removed, received no operation due to dithering doctors, and left with 100 ulcers due to infection,

My mate's father nor anyone else I know with a triple bypass ever experienced more than a spot of initial bother over any side effects. Tell the doctors that the veins are staying put. They can get them from somewhere or preferably someone else if they need them.

You'll be fine.

Too late was done yesterday - apart from some chest pain don't feel too bad ATM

Every senior should be scared.
If a 12 year veteran police officer cannot disarm a 95 year old supporting herself with a walking frame, then none of us are safe.
When she dies, he should be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
 
If it’s COVID, then having missed the two sessions might mean he’s likely to have completed his five days or whatever by the time Monday rolls around…

… too optimistic?
