The new government is enacting legislation to end recreational marijuana. Probably pass parliament in May/June then a further 3 months before implementation. Will be interesting seeing the bold experiment dismantled!
Vape shops are illegal. Everyone vapes here and the shops are everywhere. The sex industry is illegal and in a few provinces it's everywhere as well.
Same will happen with the marijuana trade.
If at all.

Thaksin is sitting behind the scenes pulling strings, and his drug death squads when he was PM will not be quickly forgotten. He is very anti-drugs. Perhaps the medicinal drug scene can be expanded to take up some slack. Thais are as capable of doing a blind turn on something they never thought through in the first place as they are of ignoring illegal activities. An illegal well stocked marijuana trade would also add an extra string to a policeman's bow. Be interesting, The legislation has already been written.

I just bought a sofa from Early Settler which was delivered yesterday. I don't recall signing a single form.

Thailand has many unbelievable soups. Much better here than in an Australian Thai restaurant.
Two favourites are Tom Yum Kung and Koi Chup Moo.
Those that have been here know.

$1.60 for a huge bowl..

We recently went to a Thai restaurant in Melbourne that specialises in Isan cuisine and I had a soup - it was delicious!
We also had a green curry that you could tell was made from fresh ingredients - beautifully aromatic.
We're starting to see more Thai regional cuisines, which can only be a good thing, because the now traditional Oz-Thai restaurants can be a bit boring, and the ones that do food no better than you can make at home from a can are a dime a dozen.

I'd add in Lanzhou beef noodle.
That's another great one.
One of our local dumpling restaurants does a Taiwanese beef noodle soup.
Their dumplings are a bit meh, but this soup is delicious, chock full of tender chunks of slow cooked beef.............
Jesus, I'm making myself hungry!

O don't know their names, but Indonesia is a bit of a soup haven.

Straight from the Portarlington Mussel Festival. When cooking mussel's...

Discard mussels with broken shells or any open mussels that don't close when tapped lightly. Do not remove beard at this stage.

If adding mussels to a sauce..

Steam the mussels separately (start in a cold pot)
Heat gently for 3-5 mins - do not add any liquid
Remove mussels as they open and remove beard
The mussels will release a lot of liquid - retain and freeze liquid if required. This can be used in seafood risotto, pasta marinara etc
Add cooked mussels in their shells to separately prepared sauce of your choice - (NMBB recommends Sicilian style vs creamy French style)

FINALLY - IT'S OK TO EAT MUSSELS THAT HAVE NOT OPENED. THE FURPHY RE DISCARDING MUSSELS THAT HAVE NOT OPENED WAS STARTED BY A POM WITH LITTLE IDEA. * POMS -PLEASE STICK TO ROAST BEEF AND YORKSHIRE PUDDING, LAMB HENRY ETC

Really truly ruley? You CAN eat mussels that don’t open when cooked?

Source? (Agree with your Sicilian sauce).

I've got a fridge full of cockles/pippis after a hunt yesterday. How should I cook them?

Looks delicious, but I must say I hatethe modern trend of recipes containing 3000 words before you get to the actual recipe.
Definitely agree there - on this occasion I failed to remove surplus words - my humble apologies - chuck the damn thing's in with a tomato based sauce and serve with pasta of your choice

Wasted on me. Find their taste bland but somewhat unpleasant, despite the old days removing them from piers before safety became the most commonly used word in our vocabulary and everything free became subject to regulations and rules..
