B_W, you just caused millions of Neapolitans to turn in their graves. :)

More is not better, better is better. :thumbsu:

P.S: Manu is French (like your partner if I remember) and loves rich sauces. This is generally not the Mediterranean way.
Well, the French have their own version of pizza - pissaladière.
It has onions, olives and anchovies.
Very popular in Marseilles.

THE ULTIMATE DISGRACE.

PS - this might just be worse than pineapple on pizza - awaiting comments

That's what these Mediterranean folk don't understand. They grew up with a mamma who could cook. Us skips had burnt meat with 3 vegetables that had been cooked until grey. If you were ****ing lucky, mum had gotten too pissed to cook so she bought an Hawaiian pizza, and you picked off the pink dyed salted rubber match sticks and ate a pineapple pizza - what an incredible treat!

Even I gagged over that one.

Canned beetroot on anything - ******* hell.

When you walk down the canned vegetable aisle if you pick up anything other than tomatoes or legumes you've got issues. It does my head in that canned asparagus still exists. Who the * buys it.

Which really shines a light on the ridiculousness of your pineapple pizza vendetta. You're ranting about Hawaiian pizza whilst canned asparagus still exists? Twisted priorities.

I buy canned corn kernels. :) They add crunch to the quick salads I make for lunch.

Canned asparagus is wrong on many levels.

Is it more wrong than deciding that pineapple (the best ingredient in pineapple juice, btw) is a fine pizza topping? I think it could be.

Bringing up canned asparagus after your partner in trolling hit us with canned beetroot...you 2 have helped us reach the bottom of the barrel.

A Greek guy I used to work with had dispensed with the term skip and replaced it with "Can Eaters".

My lunches are very "skip", this is one of my fave salads:

  • canned tuna in oil
  • roasted capsicum in a jar
  • canned corn kernels
  • avocado
  • spinach
  • roasted almonds

Dress with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and lemon.

Tasty, nutritious, and ready in minutes.

I don't like canned corn, but it's still normal people food. Canned asparagus is the most disgusting, but canned carrot the most insane. The fresh stuff is cheap and available everywhere all year round. Why would ya?

That looks like a very nice combination.

Although I wish you hadn't mentioned roasted capsicum.
I'm like Pavlov's Dog. Just the mere mention of them makes my mouth water.

My mother didn't get plastered but she cooked vegetables in a pressure cooker - her theory was that when the lid blew off, the tortured vegetables were cooked 😟.
Steamed vegetables? Not on your life - more like arc welded!

I thought MasterChef and "hero of the dish" was bad enough, but this Yarraville mob hare using it as a verb.

"We hero all the authentic flavours and ingredients from our roots in southern Italy, offering only the highest quality, freshest, seasonal produce, sourced globally."

They're villaining the language.
Decent pizza but.

I bought Edgells canned mushrooms as a convenient sauce for a steak, until the price went from $1.60 about 2 years back to $1.80 to $2.00. The other day I checked the most recent price to discover it had climbed to $2.40 (LOW PRICE!). I switched to fresh mushrooms around the $1.80 mark, making up a bit of a slush in the fry pan towards the end of the steak's cooking time.

I love the way supermarkets celebrate a price increase by awarding the item a LOW price tag. Shopping in this age of endlessly inflating prices at least conjures up the odd wry smile at the tactics employed to suck us consumers into believing we are getting a good deal. In any case, that's the end of my limited association with tinned vegies.

nah... ive been there, we had in recent years the great iceberg lettuce shortage (you would actually know the shop im talking about), the local replaced lettuce with lettuce substitutes..... no good, gotta be iceberg, there is no substitute

I love iceberg lettuce. Ridiculous the way veggies go in and out of fashion. I love rocket too, and other leafy stuff, but there’s no justification for lettuce being regarded as old fashioned.

Very nice it is too, with a lot of onions that have been cooked for ages.

That's nouveau Australian cuisine. Skip lunch is a straz and sauce sandwich - or Fritz and sauce in SA.
