Played again on Wed. Played some $2/$3 first.. Made $330 profit in less than two hours, then I went to watch a movie with my bro and have lunch, and went back to play, but $2/$3 had a massive waiting list, so I went on the $2/$5. I take back what I said about not playing it R+B, you should definitely do it. Way more profitable, and the betting is very similar to $2/$3, just think of it as a deepstack table. All the talk about it being a 'real game' is bullshit though.

Anyway, from $200 I work myself up to $1000, and then ofcourse like every bad story, I got ****ed over for all of it.

Hand 1:

Preflop: KK
Someone raises preflop to $20, a call, folds to me, I re-raise to $75, call, call, then the original raiser pushes for $110 on top, I flat call thinking AA is very possible. Then someone calls, and the last person shoves for another $55 on top, I call, and then one last call from the other bigstack.
Flop = 6A3
Check check.
Turn = 7.
Check check.
River = Q.
Check check.

Turns out the original raiser (who was first to push) had a bloody A10, the other bigstack had A8ss, and the second pusher had 99. Awesome way to lose a massive pot. ****ing two outs.
---

Hand 2:
Preflop: KK
Someone raises before me, one caller then folds to me, I re-raise and make it $75. Folds around to the original raiser who flat calls (i'm putting him on AK, maybe QQ or JJ too).
Flop = 8 high, no flush draw.
I push him all in, he calls and flips over QQ.
Turn = 7
River = Q
And he fistpumps and slams the table.

These happened within 8 hands of each other, and I just donked off the rest of my stack while on super-tilt. At least I was $130 up overall.

that sucks mate :thumbsdown:

so i play the satellite. i have aristidou and casale on my table, for those that know them. few other tourney regulars, so i'm out of my depth here. 95 starters, 9 get Aussie Millions seat, 10th gets $550. double a guy up when my AJ runs into 22 on a A82 flop. Thankfully 3rd guy chases his flush, misses, and I lose the minimum. Raise pre with 55, AA, 8:club:9:club:, take it pre or with c-bet. Raise from CO, button and BB call. Flop AK2, check, I bet, they both tank-fold.

I look at my hand, a couple ask "Ace Queen?" "Yeah!" I reply as I show the table it's hammer time :D.

Then it happens. I **** things up :mad:

Blinds at 200/400, UTG+1 shoves for 900. I look down at 9:spade:9:club: and am scanning left. One guy two from my right calls. I think for a little while and throw out three extra whites, making it 2400 to go. Folds round, all-in guy says he loves the iso-raise. 3rd guy eventually calls. Flop T:diamond: 6:heart: 3:diamond:. He checks, I shove my last 2500. He tanks but is committed and calls. He has A:diamond:8:diamond:. Other guy has wired 4s. Turn: J:heart:. River: 2:diamond:. He just has me covered and I'm out 40/95 :mad:.

Very disappointed in myself. I don't play enough (almost any) tournaments so I'll have to take this on board. A number of the players said that I had to shove to force the 3rd guy to fold pre. I didn't take the time to think it through properly. When it gets to me, there is 200+400+900+900 = 2400 already in the pot. I bet pot making the guy call 1500 into a 4800 pot. He made a bad call of 900, but he's now getting good odds to go with his marginal hand. Once he flops his flush draw with an overcard, he has to go all the way and he got lucky. But I allowed him to get lucky. If I shove for 5000 or whatever I had, it's now 4100 for him to call into a pot of 7400. If he has any clue he folds, loses his 900, and I win a 3300 pot and bust a player.

Now I'm eager to play next week.

Was gonna say why leave 50% of your stack behind when you only have 12bb's, but you already figured out your mistake. :thumbsu:

Not sure what he was tanking for after the flop though, I would have called before you put the money out there. Perfect flop for him. What was the structure like? Starting stacks and blind levels? 100 runners with top 10 effectively getting a ticket sounds like a good number.

Hey guys, can't believe I just discovered this board, looks like it will be my new home!

I'm a poker nut, havn't been to the Cas all that often but when I'm there I've collected healthy profits. Year 12 and all has kept me from going, but I hope to play some deep stack tournys in a few weeks.

Play a hell of a lot online however on 888 mostly, pokerstars gives me the sh**s. Also play pub poker a few days a week.

Look forward to discussions. :)

Played at Crown for the first time a two weeks ago.
Didnt have enough coin to play the tables and there was no one on the poker pro tables.
Had a look for a while before going back up stairs.
Thought about putting some money on the roulette tables but put $5 in a pokies machine. Two min later cashed out my $100 and headed back down to the poker room.
I know Im not ready to the live tables and gave poker pro a go.
Played for a few hours and drank quite a few beers. Liked the experiance and was the closet thing Ive done to real poker.
At one stage there was about 6 players at the table when a couple of bloke who didnt know what they were doing (like myself) sat in. The bloke played fairly aggresive. He had only played about 5 - 10 hands when he came back over the top all in to a pre flop raiser. The pre flop raiser seemed to be a solid player. Call and we have the Donkeys A9 v QQ. Donkey hits his A and is up over $100. Now it gets interesting as he gets up and leaves. Play goes on with his seat sitting out for about half an hour and a supervisor is called to clear his seat so someone can sit at the vacant seat. Was he stupid enough to leave without his money or was he stupid enough to think he lost the hand?????:rolleyes:
Finall left after 4-5 hours in the casino full of beer and still some money in my wallet.
Last hand after raising preflop, flop Ad2dx and I push my last $30 with the nut flush draw, one caller.
KJd him with 34d. turn 5h river Tc.
And I leave with my pfft to him saying he had to call with his straight flush draw.
Looking foward to getting back to the big smoke for another crack!!

Oh how I despise Pokerpro.

Not sure I had too much choice as it was my first visit to the casino and I didnt realy have the spare coin to donk off on a real table when I didnt know what I was doing.
It did keep me entertained for a few hours.

Well to be fair, not many people at those 2/3 tables know what they are doing so don't feel to afraid to try your luck there.

I hear people say things like this as if all you have to do is turn up and you'll win a bucketload of money. It creates a false impression that you cannot lose as long as you know what you are doing. Just a month back, I lost a $745 pot with KK v QQ v 97cc which included a $90 side-pot with the 97cc guy. All the money went in pre-flop.

QQ makes a Q-high straight
97 makes a J-high straight.

I go on tilt.

So is anyone going to play the deep stack tournys down at Crown? I'm fairly certain I'll be going to the one on November 17, the day after my last exam to have a bit of a treat haha. This would be my first fairly major tournament live. Do you guys think it's worth it?

I'm considering entering an event in the Deep Stack Series but have never played the live tables at Crown, so I'm thinking it might be a good idea to have a go at them before the event.

Just after some advice on which tables to play, and how much to buy in for? Haven't played alot of live poker so not too sure how I'll go first up.

Same here. I have to suss it out very soon.

Play 1/2 NL Monday to Thursday to get your feet wet.

Re the Deep Stack Series, I'm thinking:

Event 1 - Sun 15 Nov $230 NLH
Event 6 - Tue 17 Nov $125 NLH
Event 8 - Tue 17 Nov $340 NLH Terminator
Event 12 - Fri 20 Nov $550 NLH

There's a $130 Main Event Super Satellite that I could play on the Wednesday rather than buying in. 1 in 5 get a seat.

Yeah, that's shit. But it works both ways. If people are going to put their stack in pre-flop with 97 consistently you're going to be okay in the long run.

I also hear this a lot and it doesn't stack up for me. You have to be lucky enough to get another idiot to put in $350 pre flop with 97 just to break even on that play.

Yeah but my point was more that once your actually sitting down at the table and see people make some really bad mistakes all of a sudden as a noobie to playing live in a casino you think "wow, these guys really aren't that good". It's always a lot more intimidating and nervy standing on the rail and watching people play when you havn't played there much but once you actually sit down and are on the table for about half an hour it all becomes a comfortable feeling.

Got my exams starting on the 14th, running to the 23rd. Perfect luck?

But i'm hoping to play the mixed game $550 entry. I'm confident I'll do well, will just avoid the Holdem games and clean up in Stud, Razz, Omaha. :thumbsu::):p

dropped tree fiddy tonight, not sure why I went in cos I said Friday I was taking a break :rolleyes:

Hand of the night: Raise to 15 UTG, fish UTG+1 calls, MP looks like he wants to get frisky, I hope he does, but he flats, one other caller. Flop 5:diamond:4:heart:3:diamond:. I throw out two greens. Fish does likewise. Hero in MP mumbles something about betting so big. Turn: 3:club:. I shove my last 80 in. Fish insta-calls.

I'm thinking "No diamond, no diamond!"

River 9:club:.

I proudly flip up J:diamond:J:heart:

Fish has A3o. FML.

Anyone on Vodafone that has played in the Crown Poker Room?

I'm with Three Mobile and downstairs I'm roaming voice and data.

Hoping that if and when the merge happens (VodaHutch) that I get 3G reception.
