Pretty much going to be....

If Jacobs goes.......

- 2nd round pick plus upgrade latter pick
or
- Pick 14 plus downgrade latter pick

If Walker goes.....

- Pick 14 plus upgrade latter pick

If both Walker and Jacobs go...

- pick 14 plus 2nd round pick +/- Face-Saving-Steak-Knives latter pick swaps

Prefer they both stay, but IF they go we should do very well out of this deal.

:)

There's no way that McKinley could play that role.. Isn't his biggest downfall his one-dimensional style? I know Walker can't tackle, but he would at can chase and have the pace to play that negating defender role opposition that create run, such as Kennelly.

Very interesting Parrot, most realistic thing I've read for a while. I always wonder whose face gets saved swapping late picks that either dont get used or end up netting us a 'project' or list clogger for the Bullants.

PLEASE Carlton Football Club:

Only recruit young players from other clubs with some serious talent. There is a big difference between guys who have:

1. Shown nothing for 3-4 years despite all the self-serving hype of their supporters (e.g. Sellar, McKinley, [insert rejected hack who may get delisted if not traded])

-- and --

2. Young talented players (1-2 years in) who can develop with us (e.g. McKernan, Will Young - like Hendo)

3. Draft picks where we back our recruiters to find talent

C'mon Blues ... do the right thing!

We better be getting something else on top of that.

If McKinley comes to us it would be to play that role Walker played in the EF so the only way I could see us taking him is if Walker leaves.

There would need to be a swap of draft picks or something of the like, you would think.

No talk at al re Thornton as well...would love to get some form of a draft pick for him..

I don't think Walker played a real defensive role given that he kicked 3.2 and had 0 tackles and I didn't see him doing a real lot of chasing either (no doubt with his speed and fitness he can, just wasn't his focus or his role that day). He did give us a creative, medium sized marking and goal kicking option though while making his opponent accountable and I'd love to see him doing it again next year but if he does leave and McKinley comes in that would be the role for him. Not a huge fan but I'm sure he'd get plenty of supply with our midfield compared to West Coasts.

If that was WAlker's role he was destroyed in the last quarter when Kenneally won 10 possies....

Mattner was on Walker.

Mattner shat himself and dragged Walker down in the last quarter as he was sprinting to a loose ball inside 50.

Great umpiring.

Good call TG and SIN!

Walker played well that game, no one can take that away from him...just a shame he hasn't had more luck with injuries and the like.

There are a few videos on youtube of Walker's every goal at the Crows, it's worth a watch....

No chance... Crows will not draft to fill a position only to open another gap somewhere else... TWalker can be the player that sets their structure for their next premiership... I doubt they'd swap him for anyone on our list... Judd or Murphy or Gibbs included

Playlist: Taylor Walker - Every goal of his career - this link is the one to use if you want to give the whole set out. It will show all the goals in order.

That was 2 years ago. He hasn't played in the magoos since early 2009 and has improved vastly since 2008.

Not sure Sellar has vastly improved. This is from the 2010 prospectus.

"Sellar played 11 games in 2009, but had very little impact, averaging just 34 champion data points - the lowest of any player..."

So keep the spud or delist him.

Wasn't Mattner on Walker from the start?

It was Mattner who tackled Walker and held him off the ball in the first quarter.

I recall the commentators saying Henderson should be taking advantage of playing on a smaller opponent in Kennelly.

Houlihan would have been perfect to stop Kennelly's run.

Our good run with injury will continue into next year!

I watched the game again last week (sucker for punishment) and Walker played a deep (defensive role) on Kennelly for the first three 1/4 and kept him down to 10 possessions.

They swap Mattner/Grundy to Walker in the last 1/4 and Kennelly got another 10 and maybe was the differents in the game.

The Mattner tackle was just a moment when players got lost in play or Kennally was upfield a bit chasing kicks.

Walker could play the defensive role in the forward line if required.

Will Adelaide's compensation pick come before or after WC's priority pick?

By rights, you'd think it would come first or the AFL are really stooging the clubs who lost a first 22 player to the GC. I wouldn't mind one of the players who will be drafted in that range for Walker. I reckon Jacobs could be worth a bit more for what he'll bring to Adelaide's structure.
