Was mentioned this am that McKenna was in the mix for the assistants role. I hadn't heard his name before.
What would people think? Wasn't shocking at gold coast, but had issues... Which hopefully would have learnt from. Obviously pyke would know him well.

Every chance he's a great assistant, but doesn't have the balls and intensity to be the main man.

My thinking was similar.
Would be good to have an experienced coach as support & helps someone that pyke knows but bas been in different systems to bring different ideas to the table.
Was highly regarded as an Assistant however missed that mark as a Senior Coach however with that said the task is even more difficult being a first time senior coach and the first coach at a starter club
I would be happy with this appointment

Happy with this. Would bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and football development. Plus, he would only have to do his role, not be the main man.
